STAR SEARCH, the one-hour talent series hosted by Arsenio Hall and was inspired by the original "Star Search" television program (1983-1995), which was hosted by Ed McMahon, and helped launch the careers of Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, N*Sync, Destiny's Child, Ray Romano, Sinbad, and Martin Lawrence. '' ''This series featured live tournament-style competitions in four categories - adult singer, junior singer, comedians, models/young dancers - culminating in the grand prize winning STAR in each category. A panel of celebrity judges will determine the winners.'' ''The suspense will build each week as the head-to-head competition in each category renders a winner who will advance to the next round. There are six qualifying episodes. Winners from each of these episodes will then advance to the semi finals. The grand finale episode on Thursday, February 6 at 8PM ET/PT will crown the STAR SEARCH winner in each category!'' ''To clarify, episodes one, two, three, five, six and seven will be "first round" matchups for seasons one through three. Winners of episodes one, two and three will advance to episode four, the first semi-final. Winners of episodes five, six and seven will advance to episode eight, the second semi-final. Episode nine will be the grand finale in which two semi-final winners from each category will compete for the $100,000 grand prize. '' ''The fourth season of this series, was different because there was no guest judges and the three judges that were there did not tell how many stars each contestant got. There was also a twist instated during the fourth season of the series that some episodes were called "Winner's Circle Showdown." In these episodes, the people in the Winner's Circle challenged one another to have immunity until the final episode of the fourth season.''''Show Type: CBS Variety Show''First Telecast: January 08, 2003''Last Telecast: March 13, 2004''Episodes: 41 Episodes + 1 Special Episode''''CBS Broadcast History''''January 08, 2003 - February 06, 2003 .. This was an outstanding show. The talent was always amazing and i have to say that the singers were better on this show than the the singers that are on American Idol. Please bring this show back CBS! There were a lot of people who loved this show. also, the judges were really funny too. (Ahmet Zappa and Ben Stein were awesome!!)
