I don't think the episode was HORRIBLE. But I think it could have done MUCH, MUCH better as an individual episode rather than a series/franchise finale.

Rick Berman and Brannon Braga wrote it and put the final nail in Enterprise's coffin. Glad they are gone now.

I don't know. I didn't really think they were THAT bad. Enterprise did have some really good episodes but the show doesn't even remotely compare to TNG, DS9, or VOY.

    I agree with that completely.

I don't see how the final episode was any worse than any of the other episodes.

I guess a finale is supposed to be much better than the run-of-the-mill stuff, though, so that could be why everyone seems to hate it so much.

We hated it for the pointless and cheap disposal of Trip, the totally farfetched connection between this story and "The Pegasus," and the founding speech of the Federation by Archer being totally ignored. This episode failed on so many levels, even for what would considered a run-of-the-mill one.

You didn't miss much. Pretty much the Trek equivelant of getting your stomach pumped. Well, actually, the shark swallowed this one whole and is still regretting it.

Does a shark barf in the water? Or is that like asking about a bear and what it does in woods?

I didn't like the last episode much either the ENT finale should have the ENT CAST, not just a holo-program

It also reminds me of a lazy attempt to recreate the Babylon 5 Season 4 finale, "The Deconstruction Of Falling Stars," which was also set in the future with people recounting the past.

Hi all. I'm new to the STE board, but I would like to put in my 2 cents. I liked the series, even though I haven't seen all of them. The last epi was a both confusing and dissapointing. In a previous epi they had Tripp meeting an older T'Pol and their son then in the finale no son. The only thing about the show that series, of the ones that I saw was they don't stick with previous epis they just forget that in another show that this or that happened.
We have been getting reruns of the final season, but I wish they if they are going to show reruns that they would start with the first epi and go from there. That way I would have a better idea of whether or not I like the whole series. But in my openion the last 2 seasons were good, except for the exception on a few epis.

Hello, Tex. The episode you are thinking of was one those "possible future" ones like the finale, though that one came considerably before it. Watching them both in that order could be confusing. I thought the third season was pretty lame, varying between the Xindi rehashed-news-stories plot, horrible eps. like "North Star" and the season finale, and just plain weak episodes in between. The fourth season did show startling improvement once the Xindi mess was behind it, too bad the writing wasn't like that from the beginning. The first two seasons were ok but they could have been a lot better, like the fourth showed, with more setup of TOS involved.

Yes, that was the final episode at the end of Season 4. Suck is an understatement.
