On the Nazis' invasion map of the United States, the large American Flag has 56 stars on it, instead of the 48 it should have in this time period. Either, this is to imply that Vosk's temporal incursion and the alternate timeline led to there being eight extra states at this point in history, or it could simply be an erroneous prop.

A reference is made to the US aircraft carrier USS Enterprise, which is the ship whose name Gene Roddenberry chose when he was developing Star Trek in the 1960s.

This is the second Star Trek episode based entirely in the 20th Century. The first is The Original Series episode "Assignment: Earth", which takes place entirely in 1968.
