Star Trek: Enterprise

Season 2 Episode 12

The Catwalk

Aired Wednesday 8:00 PM Dec 18, 2002 on UPN

  • Trivia

    • An ensign was trying to figure out who was the first Vulcan ambassador to Earth for a crossword puzzle. Captain Archer helped her out by answering Solkar. Solkar was the grandfather of Spock as shown in Star Trek III: The Search for Spock.

    • Nitpick: The storm may be light-years wide, but every shot of it shows that it is very much thinner than it is wide, so why not fly up or down at maximum warp to avoid it? Archer doesn't even consider this option.

    • Mission Date: September 18, 2152

    • First Appearance: After being mentioned in many episodes, Chef (kind of) makes his first appearance of the series. Only his legs are shown as he, without speaking, delivers meals to the crew.

    • Nitpick: Why is Doctor Phlox so upset by his decision over which animals to take with him to the catwalk? He made it clear that crew members would survive in Sickbay for the duration, why wouldn't the animals? Surely some of them can survive for a week left to their own devices. If not, a group of people could easily camp out in Sickbay with them.

    • Goof: T'Pol says she has never been camping in a matter of speaking, but she went camping with Tucker and the others in "Strange New World."

  • Quotes

    • Trip: (watching a cowboy movie) Did that guy shoot one of his own men?
Reed: It's hard to tell them apart in those ridiculous hats.

    • Reed: I assume I can depend on doctor-patient confidentiality?
Phlox: This wouldn't have anything to do with gastrointestinal distress?
      Reed: Is it that obvious?

    • Hoshi: (whimsically) You're the captain, can't you order the storm to calm down a little?
Archer: (smiling) I'll see what I can do.

    • Archer: You know, there is a bright side to all of this.
      T'pol: Really?
Archer: It's bringing the crew closer together. If you forget about the storm outside, this is almost like going on a camping trip.
T'pol: Perhaps we can sing a few songs later.
