Trivia: This episode takes place six years after the previous episode, "Terra Prime".
Trivia: When Tucker went to Phlox for information on the child, Phlox initially reported the baby was a healthy girl with Trip's eyes and T'Pol ears. After Tucker and T'Pol were rescued and it was determined the child was dying, Phlox told them the reason was the Vulcan and Human DNA were not compatible. After the child's death, Tucker went to T'Pol's room to discuss the memorial service and told T'Pol that Phlox finally determined that the DNA was compatible. The process used to combine it was flawed and that a Vulcan and Human could have a child together, which left the door open for Sarek and Amanda to conceive Spock.
Trivia: This is the first Star Trek episode in which the surface of Mars is seen, although it is seen from space on several occasions.
Mission Date: January 19, 2155
Goof: After Archer and Mayweather come to the bridge and T'Pol says "Contact security", she's shown turning twice when the shooting takes place.
As T'pol talks to Archer about how disruptive the Orion women have become, listen very carefully to the background. A "sonar" ping from The Original Series can be heard only once.
When Trip arrives on the bridge to stop the Orion women, his uniform carries Enterprise's patch, not Columbia's. However, in the final scene while walking with T'Pol, Trip's uniform again carries Columbia's uniform patch.
Mission Date: December 27, 2154
Nitpick: Even after Phlox reveals the males are vulnerable to the Orion women, Archer and T'Pol put a male MACO in charge of guarding them. Even if Archer was delusional, why would T'Pol allow it?
Goof: When Trip sees Kelby talking to the Orion woman in Engineering, he incorrectly refers to him as Lieutenant, despite Kelby clearly wearing three pips for commander and Trip's earlier acknowledgement of Kelby's promotion to Chief Engineer.
Trivia: The results of Phlox's cure for the virus include the loss of cranial ridges. This was intended to explain the lack of cranial ridges in the Klingons seen in Star Trek: The Original Series which is set about 120 years after this series.
Goof: Just after Trip comes on board via the transfer at warp by cable, his EV suit has the Enterprise patch on it when it should have the patch for Columbia. His regular uniform also sports an Enterprise patch instead of Columbia.
Goof: When the Colombia leaves spacedock, she jumps to warp straight away, but, as established in previous Star Trek series, a ship must clear the system before it jumps to warp.
First appearance: Section 31 in Enterprise.
Trivia: The Hur'q invasion is also mentioned in the video games Star Trek: Invasion and Star Trek: Klingon Academy.
