Star Trek: The Next Generation

Season 3 Episode 6

Booby Trap

Aired Unknown Oct 30, 1989 on CBS

  • Trivia

    • When Picard tells Riker that Geordi is giving the computer control of the ship, watch the doors of the ready room as they close behind Riker. They hit, bounce against each other, then finally get around to shutting.

  • Quotes

    • LaForge: I just don't get it, Guinan. I can field strip a fusion reactor. I can realign a power transfer tunnel. Why can't I make things work with a woman like Christy? It's like...I don't know what to do. I don't know what to say.
Guinan: You're doing fine with me.
      LaForge: You're different.
      Guinan: No, you're different.
LaForge: But I'm not trying now.
      Guinan: That's my point.

    • Picard: Didn't anybody here build ships in bottles when they were boys?
Worf: I did not play with toys.
Data: I was never a boy.

  • Notes

    • The music the gypsy violinist plays during Geordi and Christy's abortive date is the "Hungarian Dance" by Brahms.

    • The score heard during the escape from the debris field is the same music used during the escape from the void in the season two episode "Where Silence Has Lease." It does, however, get a different mix in "Booby Trap."

    • When Geordi and Guinan are talking in Ten Forward, she tells him she is attracted to bald men "because a bald man was kind to me once, when I was hurting, took care of me". This is a reference to the Season 5 cliffhanger "Times Arrow."

    • Susan Gibney makes her first appearance as Leah Brahms. In an alternate future in "All Good Things..." the character would be wed to Geordi LaForge.
