Could holodeck technology evolve into holoplanet technology??

    I like to see this in a new series, also how come those tribbles were never back on Star trek TNG?

    You would still need a power source, a surface to place it on and air, water, etc... The holodeck is only a projector. Nothing is real. I guess you could find a planet and build a holodeck large enough to cover the whole planet but the planet would have to be void of life but have air and water and the grat temp. But the amount of light panels needed to cover a whole planet?

    Yeah, I think the tech would need to improve for something like that to happen, it would be a huge undertaking. You could just use a holodeck and fake a planet. It would be a humungous program though.
    @Roy TNG never went back in time to that period to be involved with tribbles.

    If you'd have seen DS9, Worf said that the Klingons wiped them out after their original encounter in TOS. Thankfully, with the crew's time travel adventure to save Captain Kirk in "Trials and Tribble-ations", they were saved from extinction after at least a couple of them brought at least one Tribble onboard the Defiant, and doing what Tribbles do, began their repopulation on DS9. Hilarious!
