The main reason Gates left after the first season was that they weren't willing to give her a raise, that other members of the cast got. It was after fan petitioning that they relented and brought her back at the money she wanted.

Ok now i heard from someone who has spoken to her about it at a fan convention that it was because she was being sexually harassed by a staff memeber. Ive also heard from numerous sources that Patrick Stewart had to ring her and get her back onside because Diana was unable to learn her lines and had to have cue cards placed around the set as well as being not very friendly so even the TNG cast wanted Gates back and im so glad they did Pulaski was awful and i hated her.

I don't really blame Dr. Pulaski for not liking transporters, I probably wouldn't either - I don't even like lifts!!

But Beverly wins my vote every time!!

Maybe they should've had Pulaski fall down the turboshaft ala LA Law, you think?

I personally thought Pulaski was a huge b****. And I'm sooooo glad that Dr. Crusher came back. I didn't ask questions, I just thanked God for her return.

I totally agree with you. Pulaski was a total cow. She treated everyone like a child and was sooo patronising. As much as I questioned Gates McFadden's acting skills at time, I was so happy that she came back.

Maybe we should start a Pulaski-death wish list, you think? How about drinking that Klingon Tea without the antidote?

Pulaski reminded me of one of those church-group type women, like Helen Lovejoy from "The Simpsons". She probably read publications like "The Federational Enquirer".

    Interesting thought!

She could be killed by her fear - transporters - get turned inside out and explode!

Yes that would work except the whole no emotion thing so I don't think he could snap as such!

Or we could have Pulaski trying to stop the Ambu-jitsu match between Will and Thomas Riker and bonk, bonk on the head.

It would take a bit long for my taste, but while Data is being affected by Lore's "Emotion chip" he finally gets fed up with her and pushes her out of the transporter field so only parts of her dematerialize

Or .. she could be eaten by one of Barkley's Transporter worms

Oh i know i know, they could leave her in the wild west and let mark twain deal with her.

Or they could trap her between transporters like they did to Scotty, then simply keep her there forever.

So many options so few episodes, when they re-release the TNG boxset some time in the distant future i suggest they add an entire extra season devoted to way's of killing Pulaski. I'm sure by that time they would have the technical stuff figured out so they wouldn't need to re-hire her

She fell down the turbolift shaft, no matter what anyone at Paramount says.

I finally saw some season 2 episodes. I prefer Beverly over Pulaski. Beverly is more fun and upbeat. I bet when Pulaski gives hypo-sprays.. they hurt!

I REALLY disliked Pulaski at the very beginning (though I felt rather patriotic every time I heard her name ), especially over the way she treated Data but last year, after I picked up ST:TNG after YEARS of neglecting it, I've discovered she's not that bad. Sure, when they've intruduced her, she was an obvious pain in the... ... ...thingy but as the series progressed, they clearly tried to make her more likable.

I hate Crusher, but only because she gave birth to Wesley.

sounds like a form of St. Vitus to me. As long as you don't do the Robin Lefler one.
