There was this legally blind Mets fan watching the game, wearing this admittally weird looking device that lets him see the game. The announcers razed him, mostly because they were wondering "what IS that thing?' They apologized when they found out he's blind in one eye, can't see too good out of the other and the device lets him see well enough to enjoy the game.

what's all this got to do with Star Trek, next generation?  The device is called a "Jordi"

are you refering to a recent playoff game. Me and my brother were watching that telecast too, we said the same thing "Hey he looks like Geordi"; I feel really ignorant and insensitive after hearing that he was a blind man.

Thanks for clearing that up. I feel really bad!

The interesting thing about this too, to make this even more ironic, was the Geordi La Forge was named after a disabled Star Trek fan that had passed away. Am pretty sure he would be interested to know their name was being used for a device to help others.
