Hi, I have just started watching TNG and am wondering if there is a list or chart to let me know when the movies fit into the series.

Well, if you mean specifically those that feature the cast from The Next Generation, they're all set after the program ended and are as follows:

    Generations
    First Contact
    Insurrection
    Nemesis

If you are referring to the TV movies they go as follows.

    Encounter At Farpoint - Pilot

Best Of Both Worlds - End of season 3/Beginning of season 4

Redemption - End of season 4/beginning of season 5

    Unification - Season 5 Episodes 7+8

Times Arrow - End of season 5/Beginning of season 6

Chain Of Command - Season 6 Episodes 10+11

    Birthright - Season 6 Episodes 16+17

Descent - End of season 6/beginning of season 7

    Gambit - Season 7 Episodes 4+5

    All Good Things - Finale

Sometimes the episodes are in a slightly different order but the films are the right order.

There are four lights!!! However I dare you not to burst out laughing when the Gul keeps shocking Captain Picard. It was a bit OTT acting by Patrick Stewart. Ha, ha! Laughing

Stewart's theatrical acting does stick out occasionally, but he's so damn charismatic he easily gets away with it.

Has any one tried applying the 'four lights' line in everyday conversation as a joke? Do people know what you're making reference to or do they look at you weirdly?
