Star Trek: The Next Generation

Season 4 Episode 22

Half A Life

Aired Unknown May 06, 1991 on CBS

  • Trivia

    • During the experiment when Geordi and Timicin are trying to reignite the sun, Geordi consitently refers to temperatures in "degrees Kelvin", such as 220 million degrees Kelvin. This is incorrect. Temperatures should be given simply in Kelvin without further qualification. Geordi should have said 220 million Kelvin.

    • When Lwaxana and Deanna Troi are talking in Lwaxana's quarters (near the end of the episode), note the boom microphone you can see in the mirror as Lwaxana walks away from it the first time.

  • Quotes

    • Counselor Troi: Counselor Deanna Troi, personal log, stardate 44805.3. My mother is on board.

    • (as Lwaxana starts crying)
      O'Brien: I'll go...check the pattern buffers...

    • Lwaxana Troi: What does that little one do, Mr. Woof?
Worf: Please, madam! That is a torpedo launch initiator and it's...It is Worf, madam, not Woof.

  • Notes

    • Michelle Forbes, later known as the Bajoran, Ro Laren, makes a guest appearance as Dara in this episode.

  • Allusions

    • Screen Display: 4077
This number, which is very visible on one of the displays Timicin is working on, is an obvious reference to David Ogden Stiers' work on M*A*S*H.
