  • Trivia

    • Trivia: While analyzing the Ferengi transmissions, Data refers to "modified Huffman." "Modified Huffman" is actually the coding used in facsimile machine transmissions.

    • Trivia: Captain Picard grants Wesley Crusher a field promotion to the rank of ensign.

    • In the opening scene in Ten Forward, Betazoids are repeatedly mistakenly referred to as Betazeds.

  • Quotes

    • Lwaxana: You had your chance with Commander Riker - look how you ruined that.
Troi: I haven't ruined anything - we've become very good friends.
Lwaxana: Well all the better - you certainly wouldn't want to marry an enemy.

    • (after the Ferengi beam them out sans clothing)
Lwaxana Troi: I should have known even their transporters can't be trusted.

    • (After recovering a fawning Lwaxana)
Picard: Mr. Crusher, set course for Betazed. Warp 9.

  • Notes

    • During Picard's impassioned "declaration of love" for Lwaxana, Patrick Stewart quotes several snippets of Shakespeare. Before playing the role of Picard, Stewart was an accomplished Shakespearian actor.

    • Shots from this episode's opening scene would later be reused to recreate a Ten Forward scene in the Enterprise finale, "These Are The Voyages...".
