Has anyone heard if they are going to make a movie based around the Star Trek: Voyager family?

I think this would be a great idea as the series is sadly missed. I hope Paramount or whoever take this on board and make a movie out of this.

    Anyone else agree?

Don't see how they could, and have it make any kind of sense.

Janeway is no longer aboard a ship.

The Doctor is a hologram, and will be wherever Starfleet installs him (if anywhere; he may just end up having his "evolved" program studied in a lab for years).

Paris may or may not be recommissioned. He was a prisoner, not an active officer.

Chakotay, Seven, and Torres weren't in Starfleet. They are civilians.

Kim and Tuvok are Starfleet. They will be posted someplace.

All this leads to NO WAY the crew is together anymore. They are scattered.

Hard to have an adventure when everyone is permanently disbanded.

They have to find a way to get the crew back together again and to steal Voyager from the museum it's being shown in, so they can finish an impossible task only they can finish!

    Have some imagination!

You can just watch Star Trek III to see that.

I don't think a movie is in the works. This series is a wrap, unless they writea few "mid-story line" books still...

Janeway is an Admiral now - She can have her pick of any starship in the fleet! (Like Ad. Riker in TNG: All good things!).

The Doctor (now with his mobile emitter) could be recognised as an independantstarfleet officer. (They let Data in!). Janeway could ask specially for him.

Paris would, of course, be recommisioned. Why wouldn't he? He flew them most of the way home!

Chakotay, Seven and Torres, could easily be enlisted into Starfleet. Seven with her Borg experience would be an asset to the Federation. Chakotay and Torres have both been in before, so maybe they would have some things to iron out - but hey, it's Hollywood.

Kim and Tuvok could be requisitioned by Admiral Janeway and they could all set sail in Voyager mark II. (NCC74657?)

Maybe a distress call from the Delta Quadrant..........

It's too late now. The cast has aged almost 10 years. Have you seen Robert Picardo lately? He looks great, don't get me wrong, but he can't play The Doctor anymore. Unless the Doctor decided to change his physical characteristics for some reason (and he never did before). Plus, some of the cast doesn't even act anymore. I know Robert McNeil is a big director/producer now. I don't think he will stop that to shot a Voyager movie. Paramount just blew it. I stand by my past statements that there could never, ever be a Voyager feature film because people simply wouldn't go see it (yes, I know *we* love Voyager, but most people have never even heard of it...and it was on for 7 years). The studio would never consider making a Voyager movie because financially, it wouldn't make sense. *However*, they could have make a TV movie. It could have aired on UPN a year or so after VOY ended. But nnooooo. Paramount wouldn't even give us that. It's very sad, but there will never be a Voyager movie.

Sad as it is it may be time to let Voyager go. The series was great in a few aspects and the crew unforgettable - but we must face it that the decision lies with the producer and whether a new Trek movie based on Voyager will be financially viable for them.

Really, what would be the plot now that the cast is 8 years older? Maybe when they got back to Earth, they hit some magnetic turbulence or some other technobabble-related trouble and crashed on an island, where they hear strange noises in the jungle and Harry gets chased by a polar bear...
    Just a thought.

I bet that would be really awesome...until the third season. Then it would get a little boring.

Yeah it would... But they could have a reunion 20 years later and turn the island into a resort!

They might even find a camp made of Klingons and Romulans that send scouts to their camp on the beach (or in a cave at that), trying to kidnap Naomi's baby for experimentation. And the Doctor would keep having problems with this strange algorithm in his program that has him repeating the same numerical sequence over and over...

It only gets..worse. Be'lanna has a flashback to when she served as a peace officer that blew away someone bugging her during her stay at the Houston Space Center on Earth. And of course, she and others were ejected with the warp core when Voyager broke up in the atmosphere... And Tuvok believes the island has a purpose for him, and starts carving a Vulcan prayer stick..
