Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (3)

    • Trivia: When examining the results of the graft, the EMH refers to a procedure developed by Dr. Leonard McCoy, a central character in Star Trek: The Original Series and the first six Star Trek movies.

    • Goof: When The Doctor is pointing out constellations to Denara, he points out Hercules, explaining how he's a figure in Greek Mythology. However, Hercules is the Roman name of the hero, whereas the rarely used "Heracles" is his original Greek name.

    • Trivia: The Doctor is given his second name on the show, "Shmullus" by Denara, but she is the only one who ever calls him that.

  • QUOTES (9)

    • Denara: You're a computer simulation?
The Doctor: An incredibly sophisticated computer simulation.

    • Denara: They were just being nice.
      The Doctor: Irritating, isn't it?

    • The Doctor: By the way, Denara, I've been meaning to tell you...
      Denara: Yes?
The Doctor: I'm romantically attracted to you and wanted to know if you felt the same way.

    • Kes: Maybe you're attracted to her.
The Doctor: I told you, my program is malfunctioning.

    • Denara: Thank you. This is the most extraordinary thing anyone has ever done for me.
The Doctor: I wouldn't be too grateful. There are serious limitations to being a hologram.

    • The Doctor: ...and in my greatest feat of medical prowess, I once cured Mr. Neelix of an acute case of the hiccups.

    • B'Elanna: It doesn't sound simple to me. I still have nightmares about what these people did to me. And now YOU WANT TO CRACK OPEN MY HEAD, RIP OUT A PIECE OF MY BRAIN, AND GIVE IT TO HER?!

    • The Doctor: I wasn't sure you were coming.
      Denara: Neither was I.
The Doctor: If you don't want to be here...
Denara: No... I do... where are we exactly?
The Doctor: On a planet called Mars, inside a primitive land-based vehicle. It's called a '57 Chevy. Mr. Paris is quite an automobile aficionado. This is his program.
Denara: What is it that we're supposed to be doing?
The Doctor: I believe it's called... parking.

    • The Doctor: Mr. Paris, I assume you've had a lot of experience being rejected by women.
      Paris: Thanks a lot, Doc.

  • NOTES (1)

    • Music is changed for the DVD version of this episode. During the scene where the Doctor and Denara Pel are together on the holodeck in the '57 Chevy, the song "I Only Have Eyes For You" plays in the original version. On the DVD version, "My Prayer" by The Platters plays instead.
