  • Prey

    9.0
Prey was a superb episode of Star Trek: Voyager and I really enjoyed watching this episode which featured both the Hirogen and species 8472. There was a lot of action, drama, and character development. The story was well written, the acting was great, and the episode was over all very entertaining. The best scenes were of the CaptainreprimandingSeven for makingdecisions outside of the command structure. I look forward to watching the next episode of Star Trek: Voyager!!!!!!!moreless
  • Voyager tries to plot a neutral course between Species 8472 and the Hirogen.

    8.5
This is a good episode. Voyager finds an injured Hirogen and soon finds out that he was attacked by Species 8472 - and it is on their ship wrecking havoc! Janeway tries to help the Hirogen recover from his injuries (and avoid future conflict) and also decides to send Species 8472 back to their space/home. Seven of Nine provides the conflict - unwilling to help 8472 - and seemingly scared of them. The Hirogen also provides conflict - unwilling to bend to Janeway/Chakotay's will - and prepared to fight to the death. Then other Hirogen ships arrive and attack Voyager. Seven of Nine takes matters into her own hands and sends 8472 and the injured Hirogen back to the Hirogen ships. Janeway is furious and restricts Seven's future activities. This episode demonstrates the potential for Seven's character to create drama with other characters on Voyager and gives both Kate Mulgrew and Jeri Ryan some room to show their acting abilities. A story where the ramifications continue beyond this episode.moreless

Voyager comes across a Hirogen ship adrift in space. Janeway sends an away team to investigate. They find a few Hirogen dead, and one barely living. What could have done this? It looks like the hunters have found a species that is willing to put up a fight. The injured Hirogen is beamed to sick bay and is under heavy guard. Now something has attacked the Voyager outer hull and is now aboard Voyager. Do you remember Species 8472? Well, one of them is angry and wants to kill the Hirogen person. The 8472 alien has been severely wounded.moreless
  • "Prey" was a Great Episode involving both the Hirogen and Species 8472.

    10
"Prey" was a Great Episode involving both the Hirogen and Species 8472. It all starts when Voyager recieves a distress call from a Hirogen Ship that had been damaged. They found one Hirogen that was still alive and beemed him aboard Voyager. Meanwhile, Species 8472 had escaped from the Hirogen Ship and had gotten on Voyager's Outer Hall Unknown. Evantually, they find blood from 8472 in one of the Jeffries Tubes and issue Red Alert. The creature 8472 escapes to Engineering, Jumps on Torres and escapes. It's up to Seven, who is annoyed by the presents of 8472, and the Hirogen, who wants it for itself and well do anything to get it.

    10- is for a GREAT episode!moreless

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (1)

    • Goof: After being shot by Tuvok the Hirogen collapses to the ground, despite the fact the corridor has no gravity and Species 8472 is floating yards away.

  • QUOTES (4)

    • Seven: It is puzzling.
      Janeway: What's that?
Seven: You made me into an individual, encouraged me to stop thinking like a member of the Collective, to cultivate my independence and my humanity. But when I try to assert that independence, I am punished.
Janeway: Individuality has its limits. Especially on a star ship with a command structure.
Seven: I believe you are punishing me because I do not think the way that you do, because I am not becoming more like you! You claim to respect my individuality, but in fact, you are frightened by it.

    • (The Doctor and Seven are in Sickbay. The Doctor is helping Seven improve her social skills)
The Doctor: ...Let's continue - Exercise Two: The Workplace Encounter. Kes used to help me with this one. Now, I'll be the nurse, you be the doctor.
Seven: (Sighs) Please hand me the hypospray.
The Doctor: Of course, Doctor. Immediately.
Seven: Thank you. Looks at instrument.
The Doctor: No, no - don't read that part, only the dialog.
Seven: Excuse me nurse, this is the wrong hypospray; would you mind finding the correct one?
      The Doctor: Not at all.
Seven: Thank you. Did I mention you look lovely today?
The Doctor: Oh, Doctor, you're so charming!
(Seven hands The Doctor her padd)
      Seven: This lesson is terminated.

    • Hirogen: I once tracked a silicon-based life-form through the neutronium mantle of a collapsed star.
Paris: I once tracked a mouse through Jefferies tube thirty-two.

    • The Doctor: All right, I'm going to enter the force field now and start with a few scans of your mid section. You should know I'm a hologram and can't be bent, spindled or mutilated, so don't bother trying.
