EDIT

Stardate: Unknown
When Voyager shuts down main power and interrupts the regeneration cycle of the Borg children, Neelix keeps them entertained by telling the story of why a certain section of Deck 12 is off-limits, and how the space-dwelling creature that lives there came aboard and "haunted" the ship.

  • The Haunting Of Deck Twelve

The Haunting Of Deck Twelve was a superb and very entertaining episode of Star Trek: Voyager and I really enjoyed watching this episode as it's almost Halloween and this had a good Voyager themed haunting story. The Borg Children were regenerating when Voyager ran into trouble and their cycle was interrupted. They passed the time with Neelix, which was cool, who told them the tale. It was a fun episode and I look forward to watching what happens next!!!!!!!

  • Nothing like a ghost story…

    Nothing like a ghost story…

Voyager is shutting down power to enter a nebula. This will awake the Borg children from regeneration and Neelix is charged with watching over them during the blackout.

He tells them a story of an earlier pass Voyager made through a nebula where an alien entity was picked up that soon began threatening the ship, its systems, and crew. The implication is that entity is still on board Voyager and they are trying to release it into the new nebula without picking up more entities. That particular question is never answered.

However, one thing is sure. This is a boring episode. It's difficult to pin down any stakes since they're all in the past and Voyager has clearly survived. So where's the "real suspense?"moreless

The Voyager crew is shutting down power to all their stations. The Doctor is going offline as well. Janeway asks Neelix to keep the Borg children company. Their regeneration alcoves are also going offline. So they will be wide awake. They gather around Neelix and the plasma lantern. Neelix tells the story of the ghost on deck 12. He says it began when Voyager passed through a nebula. Voyager picked up a lifeform as it was leaving the nebula. This lifeform is a electromagnetic being. It became angry that it was taken out of its environment. Now it wants revenge. I rate this episode a 9.3moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (5)

    • Nitpick: When Tuvok talks Neelix through some meditation techniques, he told him to envision his lungs filling with light, when he only has one lung.

    • Niptick: Tuvok says, "350 degrees Kelvin". He should have said "350 Kelvin" since the SI-unit Kelvin is used without the degree prefix.

    • Nitpick: Since Celes is Bajoran, she is properly addressed as Crewman Tal.

    • Trivia: Tuvok states he doesn't sweat until the temperature is 350 Kelvin. That translates to roughly 170 Fahrenheit, and 77 Celsius.

    • Goof: When the nebula starts to destabilise, Chakotay tells the captain that they have collected 80% of the deuterium they need and that maybe they should abort the mission then. Janeway agrees and immediately tells B'Elanna over the comm that they are going to abort the dilithium extraction.

  • QUOTES (8)

    • Icheb: I wonder what the crew of the Salvoxia did for food after their emergency rations were gone.
Mezoti: Maybe they ate each other.
Neelix: All right, uhh, that's enough!

    • Neelix: Gather round, but I'm warning you: this is not a tale for the faint of heart.
Mezoti: We're not faint of heart.
Icheb: Our cardiopulmonary systems are reinforced.

    • Neelix: Of course, the crew of the Salvoxia probably thought they were going to regain control of their ship, too. Did I ever tell you about the Salvoxia?
Tuvok: If I say yes, will it prevent you from telling the story?

    • Paris: Cutting engines. There's a creepy image. Reminds me of something out of Edgar Allan Poe.
Kim: Looks like a vampire bat. You can make out the wings, even the ears. What do you see, Tuvok?
Tuvok: Two Starfleet officers with juvenile imaginations.

    • Janeway: I will NOT be your prisoner, you'll have to kill me first!
      Computer: Acknowledged.

    • Mezoti: Snacks are irrelevant!

    • Tuvok: I am injured. Logic dictates that you take the mask and proceed to engineering.
Neelix: I don't care what logic dictates. This isn't the Salvoxia! We're not drawing lots.
Tuvok: I am giving you an order.
Neelix: And I'm disobeying it! You're coming with me if I have to drag you by your pointy little ears!

    • Chakotay: I used to have long conversations with my Maquis ship.
Janeway: What did you say to it?
Chakotay: Sorry, can't tell you; captain-starship confidentiality.
