Thirty Days was a perfect episode of Star Trek: Voyager and I really enjoyed watching this episode because there was a lot of character development for Tom Paris and the story was pretty awesome. It was also fun to see Willie Garson in this episode as Riga. The ocean world Voyager discovered was awesome and the underwater scenes were really stunning. Captain Janeway had to make some hard decisions but ultimately necessary. I look forward to watching the next episode!!!!!!!!!

  • Paris is sentenced to 30 days in the brig, and is demoted to ensign. Paris is writing a letter to his father. In the letter Paris describes what got him put in the brig. It all started when Voyager came across a planet that was nothing but a big ocean.

Paris is sentenced to 30 days in the brig, and is demoted to ensign. Paris is writing a letter to his father. In the letter Paris describes what got him put in the brig. It all started when Voyager came across a planet that was nothing but a big ocean. The settlers of this planet asked for help. The ocean was losing its containment field. Paris requests permission to take the Delta Flyer down under the ocean to find the problem. He comes back to Voyager with his findings. He then disobeys orders and goes under the Ocean again.
  • ahead of its time in terms of special effects

i was waiting for star trek to do this episode, apparently the original idea had surfaced (no pun) during the next generation era but obviously the technology wasn't available to do it justice

but in 1998 they went for it, the ocean planet was brilliant to look at, it would look impressive in today's television, way ahead of its time, it won some awards as well

Tom Paris is demoted and confined to the brig for 30 days, he writes to his father to explain the story. Its a good look at the tom paris character, i was happy with him in this episode, i think we needed to see tom rebel (personally i think he went from rebel to boy next door too quickly but lets not get into the character development or lack of it)

good story, great special effects, not a bad episode indeed
