  • Anakin Skywalker - Jedi Knight!

We begin this episode in the base of a Separatist Koorivar General. He is wondering how many Jedi will be sent to take on his droid army. He's thinking 50, 100, maybe 1000. Nope, just two- Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi. They arive and quickly overcome the base. Next is a series of scenes where we see Anakin in different battle situations. First in space with Saesee Tiin where Anakin shoots down several fighters that were chasing Master Tinn. Then on an ice planet where he rescues Agen Kolar, Voolvif Mon, and Aayla Secura from these big droids that capture the three Jedi in some sort of energy bubble.

We now come to a planet where Obi-Wan and his troops are attempting to invade a city controlled by droids. Commander Cody informs Obi-Wan that they will break through the force field surrounding the city in three months, after already being there for a month. Anakin then shows up with lunch that he stole from the enemy city. He explains to Obi-Wan how he was able to maneuver through the sewers and into the enemy camp. The two Jedi infiltrate the camp and plant explosives to destroy the shield generator. The Clone Army then invade the city.

On Kashyyk, a father and son Wookie discover a Confederacy landing craft, and watch as the droid forces begin their invasion. Elsewhere across the galaxy, similar things are happening, and planets are being overwhelmed by the Confederacy.

Count Dooku meanwhile is training Grievous in lightsabre combat. Here Dooku is teaching him to fight like a Sith, and giving pointers on how to keep the Jedi off balance. Darth Sidious appears via hologram and informs Grievous that it is time for his "special mission".

Obi-Wan and Anakin are assigned to go to Nelvaan, where there was a General Grievous sighting. Upon their arrival on Nelvaan, a gigantic beast attacks and Anakin kills it. Several of the planets inhabitants emerge from jungle very upset at the Jedi.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (3)

    • Though not stated in the episode, Anakin's scar is the result from a rematch with Asajj Ventress, from the graphic novel Star Wars: Clone Wars - Volume 6.

    • The first three scenes of Anakin fighting across the galaxy take place two years and three months afther Attack of the Clones. The third scene where he returns with the scar is about a month after that. The rest of this chapter, along with "Chapter XXIII," "Chapter XXIV," "Chapter XXV," take place in the month leading up to Episode III (two years and eleven months after Episode II).

    • The trade federation General shown in the beginning is most likely "Pors Tonith," banker-turned-admiral from the novel Jedi Trial.

  • QUOTES (5)

    • Separatist General Oro Dassyne: I wonder how many they'll send. We've got so much firepower in here. These walls are ray-shielded. They can't take this fort. It'll probably be, uh, fifty Jedi. They'll need at least that many. Huh, maybe a hundred Jedi-they'll never take this base with less. Ha, they'll need an army of Jedi!
Battle Droid: (peering through a pair of macrobinoculars) I have a visual.
      Separatist General Oro Dassyne: Jedi?
      Battle Droid: I think so.
Separatist General Oro Dassyne: How many? A thousand?
      Battle Droid: No.
      Separatist General Oro Dassyne: Eighty?
      Battle Droid: No, sir.
Separatist General Oro Dassyne: What? Fifty?
      Battle Droid: Less.
Separatist General Oro Dassyne: Forty? Come on, how many?
      Battle Droid: Two.
Separatist General Oro Dassyne: What?! Gimme those! (grabs macrobinoculars)

    • Count Dooku: (Fighting General Grievous with lightsabers) Stop using the standard techniques! Use the unorthodox ones!

    • Anakin: Let's go! (As he ignites his lightsabre)
      Obi-Wan: Wait!
      Droid: What was that?

    • Cody: General Kenobi.
      Obi-Wan: Commander Cody.
Cody: General, with our continued energy barrage, their sheilds should be down in three months.
Obi-Wan: But we've been here a month, already.
Cody: Yes, sir. We're right on schedule.

    • Obi-Wan: Typical. The weather clears just as we're leaving.

  • ALLUSIONS (4)

    • Obi-Wan: What an incredible smell you've discovered.

This is word for word what Han Solo said in 'A New Hope' when the crew jumps into the garbage compacter.

    • Obi-Wan: There are alternatives to fighting.
Obi-Wan said this same line to Han Solo in the original Star Wars movie, now labeled Episode IV: A New Hope, as the Millenium Falcon gets pulled into the docking bay of the Death Star.

    • Obi-Wan: I've got a bad feeling about this.
This is the infamous quote which is used once in every Star Wars film and once in every Clone Wars season. This is the second time Obi-Wan says it in the cartoon; he also says it twice in the movies - first in The Phantom Menace, and he has been seen speaking it in trailers for Revenge of the Sith.

    • Alien Elder: Symbol
The Alien Elder that Anakin and Obi-Wan meet has various symbols attached to the braids of his beard. One of them is the emblem that Samurai Jack wore, a nod to Clone Wars producer Genndy's Tartakovsky's own creation, Samurai Jack.
