  • An otherwise excellent story showing development of the Padawans and an exciting plot line. However a continuation of SW TCW raising serious contractions in the Canon and SW Timeline (warning spoilers follow)moreless

    5.0
During the series of episodes leading up to the "Second" invasion of Geonosis and capture of Pogo the Lesser, a lot of insight is offered up as to the inner culture of the Geonosians.

Unfortunately, it's worse than fiction, it's contradictory fiction within fiction. Anakin interrogating Pogo the Lesser makes for a convenient plot device yet the entire capture and events following don't fit the SW timeline of events and thus the episode is an overall disappointment.

As already shown in novels such as Labyrinth of Evil, Pogo is among the Separatist Leaders on Cato Nemodia when Anakin leads a force against them. This occurs after this episode and therefore we have an inconvenient problem - how did Pogo escape? With his world occupied and defeated, why would he still have a seat at the table with the Sep leaders? Dooku wasn't so tolerant of failure.

But there he sits in time to be killed by Anakin/Vader in Ep III. Another episode that has an otherwise excellent presentation and story yet needlessly introduces completely incompatible events with the overall Star Wars timeline. This continues to detract from an otherwise excellent show.moreless
  • Another excellent installment that could make you cringe from the horror of the Brain invaders!

    9.0
This time the Geonocian slugs get into the troopers, A show for kids you say! Well, I think it would pretty dam scary for a lot of young children. If like me there may be a more older to adult generation that watch the show. As for this episode I rather enjoyed the horror and the action. Decisions of the Master Jedi over the Padawans puts them at risk they did not know or for-see.

After a grawling 30 minutes of battle Ahsoka handle herself rather well. For a minute there I thought she was going to turn. But her heart wins out in the end.

As for Anakin there was a real moment of anger that showed when he was interrogating Poggle the Lesser. All part of his journey to the darkside.moreless

  • TRIVIA (2)

    • Newsreel:
Victory on Geonosis! After a massive assault, the Republic has finally recaptured the Separatist planet and shut down its droid factories of doom. An investigation by Luminara Undulli led to the discovery of Queen Karina the Great, whose hive-mind could reanimate dead Geonosian soldiers.

During the destruction of the Queen's temple, the Jedi apprehended her advisor Poggle the Lesser, and now prepare to deliver the villain to Coruscant for trial...

Jedi Fortune Cookie: "Attachment is not compassion."

    • Three times during this episode, the Imperial March can be heard breifly:
First when Ahsoka is describing Anakin to Barriss.
Second when Anakin arrives to interrogate Poggle.
Third when Anakin uses the Force to choke Poggle in his cell.

  • QUOTES (2)

    • Ahsoka Tano: (In the infirmary, after waking up) Master, on the ship, Barriss was... gone, and she wanted me to kill her. She told me...
Anakin Skywalker: But you couldn't do it.
Ahsoka Tano: No, no I couldn't. But, should I have? I mean, it worked out now, but what if we had failed? If the ship docked, and the worms spread, and...
Anakin Skywalker: Ahsoka, it's your duty to save as many lives as you can. Barriss knew you could save thousands of lives if the worms were destroyed, which she thought meant destroying her, too. But you did the right thing. You knew the freezing cold would kill the worms. Letting go of our attachments is a difficult struggle for all of us. You followed your instincts. I'm sure she would agree that you made the right choice.

    • Clone: (After tasering Barriss) Something we clones know is how to stop a Jedi.

  • NOTES (2)

    • Mace Windu's efforts on Dantooine and Kit Fisto's familiarity with Ord Cestus are two minor nods to the Expanded Universe. Namely, the first Clone Wars micro-series where Mace fights a droid army on the plains of Dantooine, and The Cestus Deception novel featuring Fisto.

    • International Air Dates:
United Kingdom- December 12, 2009 on Sky Premiere

  • ALLUSIONS (1)

    • Barriss Offee: Master Windu has said that we're keepers of the peace, not warriors.

This references Mace's quote "We're keepers of the peace, not soldiers." to Chancellor Palpatine in Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones.
