  • Canon Killing episode, with some iffy moments but an otherwise solid effort.

    7.0
First off, if you care about the EU and cringe at retcons and rewriting of canon - don't watch this episode or pay full notice to the arc!

This has the biggest rewrite of the show so far.

Getting into the plot, the usual heroes plus Even Piell, Tarkin, and a few clones, must navigate the landscape of the barren world which houses the Citadel prison.

As expected, the least important characters perish - leaving just those who have their fates "set in stone" - or is it that simple? No. One character with a pretty solid biography dies - no prizes for who that was.

Other than that, the action is well done and there are glimpses of goodness - like Anakin and Tarkin forming a bond, plus Ahsoka going ruthless on the villain - leading to his demise. The clones get it pretty bad with the usual suspects being the only survivors. Another note is the appearance of Saesee Tiin (as a pilot) and Plo Koon (who solves the complication and becomes the resolution) which are welcomed additions.

Overall, if this episode didn't kill the canon,it would be high class. But as it stands, it scores a seven out of ten.moreless

Trapped behind enemy lines! Carrying secret information vital to the Republic's war effort, Jedi Master Even Piell and Captain Tarkin were taken prisoner by the Separatists. An elite strike team led by Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker landed on the planet Lola Sayu and infiltrated the prison.

The team rescued Master Piell and Tarkin but they were pursued by the prison's evil commandant, Osi Sobeck. During the escape, their ship was destroyed.

Now, we find them on the run, desperate to escape the trap that is the Citadel...

Jedi Fortune Cookie: "Without honor, victory is hollow."

    • Piell's death in this episode contradicts his death in the novel Jedi Twilight, which takes place three months after the events of Revenge of the Sith.
