there have been so many sith in the starwars universe.

who do you think were the best and worst?

i think that darth vader was the best because of how in control he was and that darth maul was the worst cuz he died so easily without accomplishing anything other than killing quigon.

I agree with you that Darth Vader was the best sith because of how in control he was over a lot of things, and his influence on all those around him. Yeah Darth Maul was not that great a sith, but I'm going to go with Darth Malek as the worst sith because of lack of exposure and ineffectiveness of his work in the novels.

does this include games? in my opinion i think Darth revan from kotor was the best sith ever no doubt he commanded legions, multiskilled, skilled lightsaber fighter and force powers, great military leader, and has great foresight into future events and how to plan it. i hate how the writers of the games didnt really give a good ending to his tory i think he makes a raw character but they kinda just gave up and didnt continue with him in the other games.

worst sith would be Darth maul iliked his design but he died really quickly

I think either Darth Sidious or Darth Bane were the best.

Darth Maul or Darth Vectivus. Maul wasn't powerful enough, and Vectivus... seemed too nice to be a Sith Lord. (He was by no means a saint, but he was no where near as evil as Vader, Bane, or Sidious.)

I'd say that Darth Bane was definately the best Sith (or atleast close to it). He brought the Sith order to it's peak and comanded a great amount of power.

Choosing the "worst Sith" is a bit difficult. Everyone (Sith or Jedi) has had moments where they've shined and moments where they haven't.

I wouldn't concider him the worst Sith in any way but I feel compelled to point out Darth Sidious (gonna get bashed for this I bet lol). I don't agree with alot of his policies. While his manipulations and power of command are spectacular, he did destroy the Sith order.
It started when he violated the Rule of Two and killed Darth Plageus in his sleep. If I remember correctly, a duel to the death determines whether or not the apprentice is ready to take the role of master. Killing him in his sleep seemed like the cowardly thing to do.
There's also the immense number of apprentices he had. I personally believe that he was too fickle with apprenticeship. She had, what, six or so apprentices? He didn't really spend enough time with any of them and just used them too expendably. This is what led him to die and take the Sith order with him (when he turned on Vader and didn't expect the retalliation).
Though despite this I wouldn't concider him the worst in any way. I was just pointing out a few flaws I spotted.

I also have some complaints about Darth Tyrannus and Darth Maul.

Though by default I'd say Darth Caedus was the worst (or atleast my least favorite). I found him both the most annoying and the most infurriating.

I kind of liked Caedus, but one thing really irked me. For the entire NJO series, he was bugging Anakin Solo about the Dark Side constantly. He questioned his brother's competence as a Jedi (however unintentionally), and warning him of the dangers of the Dark Side. Then a few years later, the guy is training with Lumiya, and killing his aunt.

Of course, I guess you could say the same thing about Vader.

Any opinions of Lumiya? I kind of like the self-proclaimed Dark Lady of the Sith. Well, as much as you can like the bad guy.

I never really minded the hypocracy there with Jacen. He said that to Anakin Solo before he turned to the darkside. A few other Sith had been hypocritical like that before turning so I never really minded that.

Darth Caedus just annoyed me in other ways (one being I found it very hard to try to respect him).

Lumiya, on the other hand, I thought was pretty cool. She was just pretty likeable I guess (for the bad guy lol).

I'd have to say Exar'Kun was the best. I mean, even after he got killed, he thrived by sealing his dang soul in an ancient temple!

the worst, of course, was Ventress. she was a weakling all the way. but what I like about her is that she went Jedi right before her death

Asajj Ventress wasnt a Sith Lord. She is a Dark Acolyte. And she also hasnt died. Unless this series kills her. It was mistakenly assumed that she died at Boz Pity.

fine, fine, she was on the dark side anyway. and she did heed Obi Wan's words and turned to the light just before she presumably died.

It was the fact that I had known him as Jacen for so long, that him as Caedus just seamed......wrong. That's all I'm saying.

I felt pretty sorry for Lumiya. She said it herself. She had the same background as Mara Jade (unless you count Shira being an Imperial spy in the Rebel Alliance), but Mara had the fortune of finding Talon Karrde' (or Talon finding her). She just seamed like a likeable bad guy.

It's only to be expected that Lumiya would want to kill Luke (*cough* Dark side vs. Light *cough*).

But I like Lumiya. I agree that she is a very likeable bad-guy. I've always compared here to Mara Jade in a way too.

And as for Darth Caedus, I read about Jacen turning to the dark side long before I read any stories about him on the light side so I guess I'm a bit partial here. I see how knowing him as Jacen for so long before having him fall to the dark side does could seem very wrong.
