I have roughly zero desire to see The Phantom Menace in 3-D. It's my second-least-favorite Star Wars movie, I'm wondering how Natalie Portman was not offended by Watto, and 3-D is always enough to send me running in the other direction. Dances with Smurfs (a.k.a. Avatar) was 3-D's one chance at a good movie, and they blew it.
The only thing 3-D's good for is thrusting things toward the audience, and even the San Fernando Valley has too much dignity to use it.
