Another Geonosis entry and another solid episode. This week the show went for a more horror aspect, giving us a more atmospheric, tense, and shock-producing episode of the show, as our heroes are forced to literally step into the dark and find Luminara. It's actually kind of cool to see this look at Geonosian... I guess I'll say society. I'm sure some Star Wars fans have wondered why Poggle is called "The Lesser". Lesser than what? Here we might get an answer to that. The darkness and the zombie Geonosians are suitably creepy, giving us the usual zombie movie feeling of the unstoppable, unkillable mob picking off our heroes one by one. Obi-Wan even calls them zombies, which I couldn't help but appreciate. Beyond that we get a return to some of the Anakin and Obi-Wan banter/bickering. Someone noted they really do act like the stereotypical old married couple and one can't help but admit it is pretty entertaining. Even Luminara gets a few chuckle-inducing moments. Overall, it's a tense, eerie, and exciting episode and the finale in a couple of weeks looks like it might follow up with another creepy story along those lines. I'm definitely looking forward to itmoreless
  • A good episode a little too much of Alien(TM) in there know.

Another interesting episode but a little bit too much of this and that of previous things. The queen and the pods seemed a lot like that of Alien(TM) and the little worms reminded me of the Gua'ald from Stargate.

Although that was the case it doesn't stop enjoyment and this was jammed packed. The Geonosians seem to be more complex, more horror comes through. But there is still those gags set in that work really well.

An interesting blend and I certainly can't wait for the next episode.

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (1)

    • Newsreel:
Victory on Geonosis! After a massive planetary siege, the Separatist forces on Geonosis have finally fallen. Key weapons factories have been destroyed, but at a heavy cost to Republic troops. Now, as Jedi Master Luminara Unduli and Obi-Wan Kenobi begin a clean-up of the planet, they launch an intense campaign to find Separatist leader Poggle the Lesser and bring him to justice.

Jedi Fortune Cookie: "Sometimes, accepting help is harder than offering it."

  • QUOTES (2)

    • Obi-Wan Kenobi: (After Anakin Skywalker stomps on a worm) What are you doing? I was gonna study that!
Anakin Skywalker: Study the bottom of my boot! Come on!

    • Luminara Unduli: I thought I told you not to follow me, Master Kenobi?
Obi-Wan Kenobi: Yes well, I took a lesson from Anakin and decided not to follow orders.
      Anakin Skywalker: Hey!

  • NOTES (3)

    • Luminara now has her correct lightsaber in these Geonosian episodes. In her appearance in Season One's "Cloak of Darkness", the rushed production schedule forced the crew to have her use Plo Koon's lightsaber instead. However, their weapons are nearly identical, save for the gold plating Luminara's handle has at the bottom end.

    • Though developed completely independently, this is the second zombie story in Star Wars this year. The first was the adult horror novel, Death Troopers, released by Del Rey in October.

    • International Air Dates:
United Kingdom- December 5, 2009 on Sky Premiere

    • Anakin Skywalker: That can't be true! That's impossible!

This may be a reference to when his son, Luke, says "That's not true... That's impossible!" in Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back upon realizing Darth Vader is his father.
