  • Some mumbo jumbo about destroying a weapons factory

Usually I love Clone Wars, but this episode was very weak and too predictable. Ahsoka saves the day once again, and then some mushy stuff about the padawans not being dead (who would have known right?) The sense of danger wasn't there, some loss would have been far more real, but no, the Jedi's and padawans are super beings who always prevail. I hope it gets better next week because I was bored the whole time watching this one. We need some good villains like Cad Bane or Grievous. The fighting scene was okay though. Is it only me who find the characters run animation a bit weird.?moreless
  • Anakin Skywalker, and Luminara Unduli, along with their padawans Ahsoka Tano, and Barris Offee, have an important mission to carry out: destroy the new Droid factory on Geonosis. But this mission turns out to be more dangerous than anyone had imagined.moreless

This was by far my most favorite episode of the season thus far. It had all the drama and suspense I look for in every episode, but it also taught more sentimental lessons, like the value of trust, and teamwork. Anakin and Luminara had to trust their Padawans to carry out a dangerous mission, which could have gotten them killed, and in fact, almost did. While, at the same time, Barris and Ahsoka had to trust each other to see the mission through to the end, and keep each other safe. This mission was also a good example of how strong of a bond Anakin and Ahsoka have developed. While Anakin felt unsure that, even with the help of Barris, Ahsoka would be able to complete the task at hand, he still never lost faith in her abilities, even going as far as refusing to accept the fact that she and Barris could very well have perished. And, in return, Ahsoka never doubted that Anakin would come looking for her as she and Barris were trapped, and for all anyone else knew, gone for good. But, in that respect, we also learn that Anakin hasn't yet learned how to let go of Ahsoka, even with her growing independence, and the war becoming more intense, increasing the risk of him losing her at any moment.

All and all, another exciting and stunning addition to the series, and I will be looking forward to many more in the future!moreless
  • Anakin and Master Luminara Unduli lead an attack on Poggle the Lesser's main droid factory, while their Padawans Ahsoka and Barriss Offee are tested like never before as they infiltrate the factory to destroy its reactor from the inside.moreless

The second episode of the Geonosis arc (or maybe the third if you consider Senate Spy to be a lead-in) makes for another solid entry as we get the return of Luminara in the flesh and the introduction of her Padawan to the Clone Wars TV show, Barriss Offee. I'll be honest, I'm a bit biased here since I've had a soft spot for ol' Barriss from the comics and books, so it was good getting to see her here and working with Ahsoka on this vital mission. Like the last episode, this one is pretty action-oriented, though it does take a moment or two to breathe, especially with the Padawans' (creepy) infiltration into the Geonosis factory. The Sep's new super tanks are an interesting addition, easily taken the fire of the heavy cannons we see from the movie. I wonder if those will be utilized again in future episodes. The best moment likely comes at the end of the episode, when Ahsoka and Barriss realize that they will have to destroy the reactor manually, with the tank's cannons. Even though I knew better, I couldn't help but wonder how they were supposed to survive with the reactor going up right in their face. It's a good moment and shows just what both Padawans are willing to give up to save others, one of the most important aspects of a Jedi. It also provides our second example this season of Anakin being much too stubborn to let his Padawan go, something even commented upon by Luminara. As Yoda noted in the movie, this attitude is exactly why Anakin was given a Padawan in the first place, and it's always nice to get a small hint of the flaws that will drive Anakin to darkness without hitting us over the head with some angsty, dark nature that much of the EU has for some reason chosen to show.moreless

  • TRIVIA (2)

    • Newsreel:
The final surge. Having learned of warlord Poggle the Lesser's plot to rebuild a Separatist droid foundry on Geonosis, Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker and his Padawan, Ahsoka Tano, prepare to assault this heavily-fortified installation. Their mission: destroy the factory at all costs. Anticipating stiff resistance, Republic commanders send Jedi Master Luminara Unduli and her Padawan, Barriss Offee, to reinforce the attack. But time runs short for our intrepid heroes as the dreaded droid mill nears completion...

  • QUOTES (3)

    • (As Ahsoka is working with power cell and commlink inside the tank)
Barris Offee: Whatever you're doing, I hope it works, because I would rather have died fighting up there, then starved to death down here.
Ahsoka Tano: Don't worry, we'll run out of air long before we starve.
Barris Offee: That's a comforting thought, thanks.

    • Anakin Skywalker: We cannot abandon our Padawans!
Luminara Unduli: You misjudge me. I too, care for my Apprentice. But if their time has come...
Anakin Skywalker: I refuse to let Ahsoka die! She will find a way out.
Luminara Unduli: If my Padawan has perished, I will mourn her, but I will celebrate her as well, through her memory.
Anakin Skywalker: Well, I still plan on celebrating this victory with my Padawan... in person.

    • (After Ahsoka and Barris emerge from the debris)
Anakin Skywalker: I knew they were still alive! I told you we shouldn't give up on them!
Luminara Unduli: It's not that I gave up Skywalker, but unlike you, when the time comes, I am prepared to let my student go. Can you say the same?
