Syfy (ended 2009)
|It would be damn syfy now lol and i share your heart break i guess all we have to look forward to is universe and if that is as lame as i think it would be its all over.|
|Given how much hatred there is for universe right now, an Atlantis movie might be well received right now. If anything they should make it top priority over a 3rd SG-1 film. I dunno how much longer they can keep the cast together.|
So i know this post is old and all but I've been re-watching SG1 and remembered something which bugged me in the finale.
Taonas's outpost was protected by a force field (controlled by the chair platform as far as we can tell) and since it is essentially identical to the one on earth, it is rather safe to assume that the Antartica outpost also had a shield generator.... the Antartica outpost is actually also defined as a "dome" by jackson so it is sae to assume it also had a shield over it when it froze over. Why wasn't it used? is it because they left it behind and only took the chair leaving all the drones, the shield gen and the cryo-chamber behind? because that would be slightly dumb... Not only should it be studied but leaving it for the Russian's to grab may not be a good plan either.
Instead of simply activating the shield (powered by an almost fully charged ZPM), they just let the base blow up. and if it wasn't for that shield we are supposed to believe that the base in Area 51 has no defensive capabilities even though it holds tons of artifacts? no AA guns? no shields? really?
Finally I wanted to add that I agree with most of you guys, there is no way the hive could have been that powerful. Wraith tech just like Human or Asgard should get a significant boost from accessing a ZPM's power. But COME ON! 3 Asgard modified BC-304 followed by the full force of the Atlantis city ship powered by 3 ZPM's and barely a scratch on the hull... even if you made good points that the Atlantis ZPM's may not have been full and may have been seriously drained by the galactic jump, the ZPM on board the hive should have been equally drained! Growing the ship, travelling between galaxies in a record time and the power transferred to fire at the BC-304's... that ZPM should have been reaching it's maximum. Even with 3 ZPM's at 20%, Atlantis should have had the upper hand. It's basic math after all.. 3>1!
