West Edmonton Mall is a shopping mall in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, built in 1981. It was the world's largest mall from 1981 until 2004. It is now the largest mall in North America. Some of its indoor contents include: A waterpark, an amusement park, an ice-skating rink, 110 eating establishments, a mini-golf course, a 354-room hotel, a shooting range, a casino, a lake with an exact replica of Christopher Columbus's ship: the Santa Maria, and a 13-screen and 6 screen (2 theatres) movie theatre. The mall has over 800 shops and services, and covers over 5.3 million square feet, the same as 104 Canadian football fields (115 American).
