Trivia

FILTER BY TYPE

  • Trivia

    • The Wraith used cloning technology in their war against the Lanteans. The Hive Queen would create several warriors naturally to be used as templates then the machines would duplicate the gene patterns of those Wraith several thousand times creating an instant army.

    • Queen: I don't believe that I have ever encountered such resistance from a human before.
Sheppard: I've had a lot of practice.

Sheppard encountered Wraith Queens and their control tactics in the Season 1 episode "Rising 2", Season 2's "The Hive", and Season 3's "Submersion".

    • In this episode another Hive ship is destroyed by Sheppard. This brings the total to fourteen since the expedition arrived in the galaxy.

    • The Wraith use the Z.P.M. to power their cloning facility. This shows that the Wraith have a firm grasp of Ancient technology and the ability to integrate with their own.

    • Teyla is having a boy.

    • In this episode, the Wraith first seen in Season 3's "Common Ground" and who returned in "The Seer" earlier in Season 4, is given the name 'Todd'. Sheppard picked the name because his college friend Todd was pale.

  • Quotes

    • Lorne: No sign of the rest of the crew. Whoever attacked the ship must have taken them prisoner.
      McKay: Including our friend.
Sheppard: Stop calling him that. It's weird.
Ronon: Then what do we call him?
      Sheppard: I don't know. Let's go with ... Todd.
      (Rodney grimaces at him.)
Sheppard: It's a guy I knew in college. He was very pale.
      McKay: Todd's a terrible name!
Sheppard: You got a better one?
McKay: As a matter of fact, I do ...
Sheppard: (interrupting) You know what? Forget I asked.

    • Sheppard: How big is this place?
McKay: Don't worry, I got an excellent sense of direction.
Sheppard: Didn't you say you got lost in a garden maze once?
McKay: I was ten, plus I was running from a bee.

    • Teyla: I exposed my unborn child to the mind of a killer. Even before he's opened his eyes on the world.
      Sheppard: He?
      Teyla: It's a boy.
Sheppard: Really? I thought you didn't want Keller to tell you anything.
      Teyla: She didn't.
      Sheppard: Okay.
Teyla: You were right to question my involvement in this mission. There was a time I would have laid down my life for you, or Ronon, or Rodney, without hesitation. But, I have other considerations now.
      Sheppard: That's understandable.
Teyla: You have no idea how close she came to extinguishing his life. If you had hesitated, for even a moment...

    • Queen: I don't believe that I have ever encountered such resistance from a human before.
Sheppard: I've had a lot of practice.

    • Lorne: Listen, I never got the chance to congratulate you. It's really great. I didn't even know you were dating anyone. My sister has a couple of kids, two boys, five and seven. I miss being around them.
Teyla: I'm not really sure what to expect.
Lorne: Nobody ever is. At least not with the first one. But you get through it. You're going to make a great mom.
Teyla: Thank you. I wish I could be so sure.

    • Teyla: I wanted to tell you sooner. But I found out shortly after Dr. Keller and I returned from New Athos. It was a difficult time.
Sheppard: It's okay. I get it.
Teyla: Now, along with everything else, I'm burdened with the thought that this child may be the last of my people.
Sheppard: We don't know that yet.
Teyla: But you understand why I cannot just stay in Atlantis and do nothing. My best hope in learning their fate is to be out here with you.

    • (McKay and the Wraith "Todd" are holding back while Sheppard and Ronon clear the way)
McKay: There's on thing I don't understand - back when you defeated the Ancients, how'd you get your hands on the ZPM?
Todd: The Lanteans were powerful but careless. Believing their ship's were unbeatable, they sent them deeper and deeper in Wraith controlled territory, trying to weed us out. It took month's but eventually we were able to capture three of them; each one, powered by a ZPM.
McKay: At which point, you brought them back here.
Todd: Within weeks, our army had grown to hundreds of times its original size. From that point on, the tide of war turned in our favor and there was nothing the Lanteans could do.
      (Sheppard returns)
Sheppard: Save the history lesson for later, let's go.
      McKay: Right

    • (Sheppard, Ronon, and McKay are in a Wraith holding cell, after witnessing the Queen's apparent lapse)
      Ronon: That was weird.
McKay: Weird?! Did you have see how close I was to becoming Wraith food? I don't think "weired" quite cuts it! Like, maybe paralyzing...or sickening...or heart-stopping
Ronon: (To Sheppard) What do you think happened to her?
      Sheppard: I'm not sure.
(The Queen shoots the Wraith guarding the cell and let's them escape)
      McKay: Oh great, she's back!
      Queen: Here are your weapon's.
      (They all look confused)
      Queen: It's me, John.
      Sheppard: Teyla?
      Queen: Yes.

    • (Ronon touches a panel on the wall. A display lights up)
      McKay: What did you do?
      Ronon: Nothing.
McKay: You touched something, didn't you?
      Ronon: No...maybe just a little.
      Lorne: What is it?
      Ronon: Looks like a map.
McKay: Thank you, Captain Obvious - of course it's a map! The question is, a map to what?

    • (The team investigate one of the Wraith cloning sacks)
McKay: Oh, that is just revolting!

    • (The team are walking around the Cloning Facility when they see the Queen)
      Sheppard: What's that?
      McKay: It's a Queen.
Sheppard: Nice work, Sherlock, but what's she doing?
      McKay: I have no idea.

    • (The team are in a Jumper approaching the Wraith Hive Ship)
McKay: I've got it dead ahead. Looks like it's been shot up pretty bad.
      Ronon: From the Replicator battle?
McKay: I'm picking up residual radiation from Wraith weapon's fire.
Lorne: Were they attacked by another Hive?
McKay: (Sarcastically) Well, it looks that way.
      Sheppard: Any lifesigns?
McKay: I'm not picking up anything.
      Sheppard: Maybe they're hibernating?
McKay: Seems like an odd thing to do after being attacked. Plus, they usually land the ship.
Sheppard: Alright, well we haven't come all this way to turn back, so, er, we're going in.

    • (The team are in the locker room, getting ready for the next mission, when Teyla enters. She tries to convince Sheppard to allow her to go on the mission)
Teyla: ...I would like to accompany you on this mission.
Sheppard: (With his back to Teyla) Well, we got it covered
Teyla: John, I understand what you are trying to do but I assure you, it is not necessary.
(Everyone in the room looks at Teyla and Sheppard)
Teyla: My skills have not diminished, and I still have much to offer the team.
(Sheppard motions Major Lorne to leave)
Lorne: Alright guys, let's head out.(To Sheppard) We'll wait for you in the Jumper Bay, sir.
(Everyone leaves except McKay, who stays to listen to the conversation. Ronon grabs him and drags him out)
      McKay: Wah, I'm not even...
Sheppard:(To Teyla) I'm not having this conversation again.
Teyla: We have not had it yet. In fact, we've barely spoken since I told you I was pregnant.
Sheppard: It's been a little busy around here.
Teyla: I understand why you did not want me to join the attack on the Replicator world, but that was a special circumstance.
Sheppard: Look, even the simplest op can become dangerous.
      Teyla: And I accept that.
Sheppard: You think it's that simple?
Teyla: Is this about you trying to protect me, or are you still angry because I did not tell you sooner?!
Sheppard: This is about your people missing, this is about the father of your child missing - you wanna go out, you wanna tear it up, you wanna kick ass, but you can't! And the sooner you realise that ,the better!
      (Sheppard walks away)

    • Rodney: (After a wraith comes out of the egg-sack) Oh. I'm going to have nightmares about that.
