Bra'tac and Teal'c find two groups of Jaffa at a System Lord summit struck down by a seemingly unstoppable warrior who only goes down after multiple 'zat' shots. Carter and her father run an examination – the warrior is fused into his energy-absorbing suit and is a modified Goa'uld that died from the strain rather then the zat blasts. Sel'mac reveals there was a superior healing device from which the sarcophagi are derived that belong to the System Lord Telchak –which Daniel's grandfather Nicholas ("Crystal Skull") believed was active in Honduras as the Storm God Chak. Telchak was defeated by Anubis so they suspect Anubis is involved.
Daniel and Dr. Lee head to South America while Sam comes up with a way to penetrate the armor with a dartgun and Bra'tac plans to capture a warrior in a force field and drug him for interrogation. The darts have no effect and the warrior gets through the field but leaves to kill Ramius, ignoring them. Trapped on the planet, the team is forced to surrender to Ramius whom the warrior then kills. They are released by a reluctant Jaffa and find Ramius and all his men dead – Sam comes up with an alternate plan. They "ring" the warrior up to a ship and an oxygenless cargo hold to knock him out. The creature refuses to talk so they use a Tok'ra mind-scanning device to find where it was created by Anubis – a planet called Tartarus.
Meanwhile, Lee and Daniel find a relic and barely escape with their lives, then are captured by local guerrillas. The leader, Rafael, believes they are up to something and SG-1 gets the news that Daniel is missing and his location is unknown.
