  • Trivia

    • Daniel's phone changes color from black in Jacek's apartment to silver in the woods.

    • When ambushing the Jaffa, why fire a warning shot as a signal to attack? Why not fire the first shot into one of the Jaffa? It's just as noisy.

    • This is the second time Ben Browder and Claudia Black have appeared in episode called "Family Ties." The first was Episode 22 of Season 1 of Farscape.

    • At the end, as Sam takes a drink of champagne, at the same time she manages to say, "And Teal'c got tickets to some show"

    • As Vala brings the boxes to Daniel's office and throughout their conversation, Vala's mission patches were on the wrong shoulders.

    • Trivia: This episode marks the first appearance of Odyssey's new commander, Colonel Davidson, played by Fulvio Cecere. Davidson replaces Odyssey's previous commander, Colonel Emerson, who was killed in "Company of Thieves."

    • During the second briefing with Landry, Vala's mission patches are on the wrong shoulders again.

    • As Vala gets into the lift to go see her father, her mission patches are again on the wrong shoulders.

    • During the briefing with Landry near the beginning of the episode, Vala's mission patches were on the wrong shoulders.

    • When Vala shoots the sentry by the cloaked cargo shuttle with a zat you can see that the zat is in the closed or off position when she walks on-screen.

    • If SG-1 set up a decoy cargo ship for Jacek, why didn't they disable its engines? Why allow a known criminal to get away with a perfectly good cargo ship? They could've even rigged its engines to stop working at the touch of a button.

  • Quotes

    • Landry: I made a deal. I'm not going back on my word.
Vala: Might I suggest a more liberal interpretation of the agreement? For instance the word sanctuary could mean anything from accommodations in an idyllic tropical setting to, say, lifetime incarceration in one of this planet's more unpleasant penal facilities.

    • Daniel: Yeah, we heard you haven't exactly been a model citizen.
Jacek: I'm not sure what you mean.
Daniel: The charity phone scam? Little Pepito needs a new set of kidneys?

    • Jacek: The way I see it, I'm selling people hope.
Mitchell: No, you're selling glitter shavings in a tube for twenty bucks a pop.
      Jacek: Plus shipping and handling.

    • Vala: (over radio) Oh, Jacek, you idiot!
      Daniel: That's the signal.

    • Teal'c: May I offer you a word of advice?
Jacek: Hello. Any input that would help me better myself would be greatly appreciated.
Teal'c: Maybe three words. "Be less annoying."

    • Mitchell: So what's the deal with the accent, or in your father's case, the lack thereof?
Vala: Well, the accent, like most of my other good qualities, I got from my mother. My charm, my wit, my good looks.
Daniel: What did you get from your dad?
      Vala: Some minor food allergies.

    • Jacek: Vala is that you?
      Vala: Yes it is.
Jacek: Sweetheart, how is life treating you?
Vala: Certainly better than you ever did.
Jacek: I suppose for the benefit of your friends there, you're going to want to list all the reasons I was such a bad father?
Vala: Oh I wish I could, but a wormhole can only be maintained for thirty-eight minutes.

    • Mitchell: Uh, and by cultural offerings you mean...
Sam: Pedicures, mochaccinos, and Victoria's Secret.

    • Mitchell: They canceled it, really? I didn't even know a new season had started. That's something you don't see every day.
      Siler: Yes, Sir.

    • Sam: But the truth is the Stargate program doesn't get the support it used to from the people in charge.
      Jacek: Why not?
Dr. Lee: Eureka! One down, twelve to go.
Jacek: That's too bad because after all your Stargate program has accomplished for this network of planets, I would think that the decision makers would show it the respect it deserves.

    • Jacek: Say, how would you like to go out to dinner with me once this is all over?
Sam: Oh, I don't think so.
      Jacek: Why not?
Sam: Well, I'm an incredibly busy person, with very little free time. (pause) Oh! And you're a jerk!

    • Vala: To think I believed in you.
Jacek: I'm trying to change. It's an ongoing process.

    • Dr. Lam: You know that grey sports jacket that you have with the patches on the sleeves?
      General Landry: Uh hum.
      Dr. Lam: Don't wear that.

    • Daniel: You want us to talk to her for you?
Jacek: I was going to suggest tricking her into coming here, but if you think talking will work…

  • Notes

    • When Sam and Vala got together for a girl's night in, as well as their earlier shopping spree, it was to fulfill something showrunner and writer Joe Millozzi tried to put in during another episode (Morpheus) to show that there were no rivalries between the two women, but the previous scene was cut for time. It wasn't until the very end of the season he was able to get the bonding scene he wanted.
