Better to get all 10 seasons in the complete box set or individual seasons?

I know I'll save money by buying the complete set with nifty box, but inside I've learned the dvd's aren't packed very well.

I prefer the more securely packed individually sold seasons, but the cost is higher.

What would YOU people recommend and why? Even at $20/season, the individual seasons is about 2x as much as the complete boxed set of all 10 seasons.

I bought for Christmas the entire series with the two TV movies included. However, the producers are planning on doing a third TV movie so think about that before making a decision as to whether to buy or not. If I buy the third TV movie now it'll look pretty lonely next to my huge, epic Stargate SG-1 boxset. It's you're decision.

I myself have all the seasons in their individual packaging. A lot of times with any complete series boxset the discs aren't packaged very well however nice it might look. You could get that and easily scratch the discs. With the individual seasons they are packaged so the discs won't scratch. Anyway if I were to buy them all over again I'd do it the same as I did the first time. Ultimately it is your decision. Happy purchasing.

I have the complete set and don't find the packaging all that bad. It basically a folds out a few times with discs on each side, about 3 or 4 to each piece of the folding part. They just slip in 1 behind each other, but sometimes it can be hard to get them into the little slit in the box. Personally I prefer it to the individual boxes because I have enough DVD box sets clogging up my collection anyways It's up to you in the end, but I personally love the boxed set. Plus there's a little stargate on the front

Do the the DVDs have more scenes than the tv broadcasts did? I've been watching season 7 & 8 this past week and saw some scenes I never remember from the tv show.

By the way, I would prefer the box set but I've been buying the individual seasons and movies all along.

No, I don't think they added any deleted scenes back into the episodes. It's probably just the fact that there are 210 episodes It's damn near impossible to remember every single scene

To me this decision would depend on if your buying a collector to keep for years,or simply to add to your movie collection. The complete set doesnt appear to have more more, well at least from the glimpse i took of them and are lousy at protecting the disk but they are more economical and save space. The individual season disks are kinda bulky in comparison but too me in the end i wanted to keep watching this show for years to come so i went with the indivual seasons, however that just me.

For me I like having the individual seasons but for totally crazy ocd reasons, because I have a nice big dvd shelf and box sets of shows do not fit on it as well as the individual seasons haha. I think it's all just a matter of personal preference

I have the individual releases as I've been buying them all along but personally I would like to get the complete set too - if I ever see it for cheap enough

If I were you I would buy the complete boxset - it's cheaper than buying individual, it'll take up less space on your shelf, and most importantly (and this is why I want it) there's a disc of new extras!

Yeah, I had the seasons in individual form (1 thru 8 only), and I got the boxed set and gave my individual seasons to my brother. Have not regretted it since. It really does come down to personal preference, I really liked the cool box and all the extra special content you get, plus I did not have a problem with the packaging at all, it is quite secure imho.

The extras really make it worth while,my only problem was the packaging which is not as good as the individual seasons albeit more decorative.

I personally don't have any problems with the packaging, other than trying to find a specific disc gets a bit tricky if you don't have them turned the right way
