I'm all for the original cast slipping into the new show (but we better see some Atlantis people, too, if we can...), but I gotta admit that Teal'c is my least favorite character. He was fantastic when he was playing the straight man against Jack's comic finesse, but then he had to go all serious and deep in Seasons 9 and 10.

I think it was the hair. ;o)

I like the hair, it's much better than the 'chin beard'.
And SG-1 tv movie? Sweet! And guest star in Universe? Even better! At least this means Universe won't totally distance itself from SG-1, I hope some Atlantis characters shows up for Universe too.

If this movie ends up being the last to star the original cast let's hope it's a fitting send off. I can't wait!

maybe, but the movies ends when they don't become profitable anymore. That's the big decider of when TPTB will end the franchise. That and when the principle actors feel they have enough already.

As much as I wanted Sg1 and Atlantis to continue, I can only imagine how much fun it is for the cast. They can work on other projects and then once a year get together with old friends for a few weeks, the project is over before you get sick of your character and get a nice paycheck for it. Then hopefully you'll get to do it next year if the sales make some money. Sounds like a great gig to me!

The only problem of course is age. They can't keep doing this forever as they're all getting older.

yea thats true, but its alot more difficult to be an sg team member with how differently these shows are,one is ship based with very little hand to hand and the other is sg1 lol.

Richard Dean Anderson is in good shape for his age but when he reaches 70 can you really imagine him running away from firing Goa'uld ships with pyrotechnic explosions going off around him? As for the Star Trek films The Undiscovered Country I'm sure had Kirk throwing some slow punches but that was it. I can't remember the crew doing much physical action in that movie.

Well they may get away with since alot of the sg team battles seem to be more and more ship on ship.

I might be the only person who feels this but more and more ship to ship space battles takes away the whole adventure of them going through a Stargate. What do people think?

Ship battles are great, it's no wonder BAMSR from Atlantis is one of the highest ranked episodes of the show. Also Pegasus Project was also very good [ok not exactly a battle, but it did have 2 big ships blown up].
