Episode Recap

As Jack waits for the downloaded intelligence to overwhelm him, he subconsciously writes the name of the planet in a crossword puzzle – Daniel manages to decipher it as a gate code. The gate doesn't respond so they take a ship acquired by Bra'tac and Teal'c from a Jaffa, Ronan. Jack accesses his knowledge to boost the ship's speed while Anubis' three ships closes on Earth. The President refuses to respond on Hammond's advice so as to not reveal the extent of their technology.

The team arrives at the planet to find it covered in lava – Jack manages to pinpoint a potentially shielded area and they ring-teleport down. Jack finds a special chair to sit in, activating the systems and bringing up a forcefield to protect the facility. They find a galactic map with all of the Ancients' colony worlds and find the location of the city beneath Antarctica on Earth. Jack finds a power source while Ronan reveals he is loyal to the Goa'uld and attacks Bra'tac. The shielded area begins to crumble while Bra'tac manages to kill Ronan before collapsing on the verge of death. Jack manages to use the healing power of the Ancients to revive him.

Anubis blows up a naval fleet then arrives before the President as a hologram. Hayes refuses to capitulate and offers Hammond a new job while Kinsey scurries off to SGC to get to the Alpha Site. Anubis brings in the rest of his armada and dials in to the irised Gate, preventing Earth from using it and anyone from escaping off-planet. Jack becomes obsessed with building a piece of technology. Hayes orders the Prometheus to attack, with Hammond in command and Jones as pilot, to distract Anubis long enough for SG-1 to complete their mission. Jack flies them to the city location and uses his device to melt through the ice.

The Prometheus and the F-302s arrive to draw Anubis' fire while SG-1 goes down on a power-boosted ring-transport. Anubis gets there first but it's a hologram – Jack sees through it and "awakens" the place with the power source. Anubis sends in his super-soldiers and the others hold them off while Jack activates the command chair. Hammond orders a ramming attack on Anubis' ship and Jack unleashes the energy-spirits of the place, wiping out first the super-soldiers and then Anubis' armada. Hammond gets the Prometheus clear as Anubis' ship is wiped out. Jack collapses but manages to have the others put him in a freezing chamber before he dies. Daniel concludes the Antarctica facility is only an outpost, not the main city, leaving matters inconclusive.
