Episode Summary

EDIT
Wanting proof that the Goa'uld are not gods and can be stopped, Rya'c insists that Teal'c allow him to join in battle, so he can see for himself what the war is all about. Together with Bra'tac, they deduce the planet Anubis is attacking Earth from, and set out to make a strike at his weapon. Meanwhile, on Earth, the efforts continue to find a way of preventing the catastrophe an exploding Stargate would bring about.moreless

Spectacular episode to kick off the post-Daniel era.

Great A story. Equally great B story.

    How often does that happen?
  • good episode...

This is the continuation of Redemption 1 and it ends rather well. Earth is getting attacked by another stargate under Anubis's control and Teal'c, Ry'ac, and Bra'tac are trying to destroy it while the SGC is trying to find out how to stop it before it blows up the planet. McKay and Carter are the masterminds and they can't think of anything. They're really funny together. McKay just openly says she's hot and she's like "he's weird." Anyways, it's just amusing. Jonas is just casually walking around with coffee and casually asks about how to get the stargate out. There's an idea, just move the stargate dumbos! Anyways, Jack takes the X-302 (?) and moves the stargate far away so it won't blow up earth. Ry'ac, singlehandedly, blows up the weapon and saves Bra'tac and Teal'c. I thought that was stupid. A little kid did everything and barely even got hurt. He had no battle experience and he just stole a glider and shot a lot of people. It was just stupid. Oh well, it was still a good episode.moreless
  • Blowing up yet another gate...

A really adventurous episode what great way continues events of last episodes.

Earth is on desperation, trying to find a way to avoid the destruction. McKay comes out with solution but it does not work as Carter predicted. So, next idea from Jonas - get the gate away.. O'Neill has change to fly with it but ofcourse things does not work out as planned but in the end with first hyperdrive use, they manage to save Earth.

On the other side of the problem, Teal'c, Bra'tac and Rya'c ty to turn the machine down. And thanks to Rya'c they manage - and that boy really saved the day.moreless

  • TRIVIA (2)

  • QUOTES (12)

    • McKay: You're an artist, Major. Maybe the best I've ever seen. I'm just critical because I'm jealous.
Sam: I'm touched. Really. I wish I had a brilliant plan to draw for you.
McKay: And you're funny, too. Even electrocuted. Me, I got... I got nothin'.
Sam: You're creepin' me out, McKay.
McKay: It's just self-preservation. I'm beginning to realize that I'm not gonna solve this, and that one of your typically insane ideas is probably gonna be our best choice.

    • Jonas: Colonel, Doctor Jackson is gone.
      Jack: Yeah, I noticed that...

    • Jack: Alright, well in the meantime, I'll just... keep falling...

    • Sam: (as Jack is about to leave) Good luck, sir.
Jack: Hey, what could go wrong?
      (elevator breaks down).

    • Sam: (talking about the weight of the X-302 with the gate attached) Believe it or not, every pound counts.
Jack: Shouldn't have had that cake...

    • Sam: You do realize that if this works, we won't have a stargate anymore?
Hammond: That did occur to me...

    • McKay: (looking at Sam who was shocked) She's not gonna be happy when she wakes up, is she?
Hammond: Medical team to the control room!
McKay: She's...gonna wake up, isn't she?

    • McKay: Oh, I just wanted to check things over before I take credit for this.
Carter: For the record, I hate you.
McKay: (smugly) Well, it can't much worse than that, can it?
Carter: Oh, I'm rapidly working up to 'despise'.
McKay: You know, we're obviously going to have to get over this physical attraction thing if we're going to work together.
Carter: Oh, and before I take credit for this, shouldn't the EM pulse be pointed at the gate?
McKay: Oh, good, very good. Funny, too.

    • McKay: He [Anubis] has a real flair for dramatics, doesn't he?
Sam: Yeah, pretty much all the Goa'uld are like that.
McKay: But why wait? Why does the guy show up a day and a half after he started doing this whole "Prepare to meet your doom" thing?
Sam: I don't know... Maybe he wasn't sure it was gonna work.
McKay: Yea that would be an embarassment wouldn't it. "Nothing can stop the destruction that I bring upon you" and the gate shuts down. "Oops sorry, never mind."

    • McKay: I always wanted to be a pianist.
      Carter: Excuse me?
McKay: A concert pianist. You know, a guy who plays piano in front of lots of people? What did you think I said?
      Carter: Never mind.

    • McKay: Hey, Anubis, this is your agent. You're playing it way over the top. Can you get serious, please?

    • Carter: I wish I could go with you, Sir.
Jack: Yes, I'm sure you do, and I find that quite bizarre.

  • ALLUSIONS (1)

    • Jack: (referring to the hyperdrive) We just don't know where it will send me, right? Who cares, as long as it's a galaxy far, far away.
An obvious reference to Star Wars.
