  • ok episode...

    8.2
SG-1 and some of the NID team that were accused of treason go off-world to repair The Sentinal which would save the world from the goa'uld. Of course, in the end they fix it and all of the goa'uld disappear. Anyways, the episode was ok. It had a few slow and dull sections and the story seamed unorigonal. It's been done before a hundred times. I liked the inclusion of some of the old NID team though. However, there were some good action scenes and some good writing, but it really didn't counter the really boreing parts. Oh well, overall, ok episode, nothing special, nothing too bad.moreless
  • Correction of mistakes...

    8.2
Somehow little aftermath of what happened in "Shades of Grey". One of the planets Maybourne team was taking things is on trouble and they try to fix it - with two of the team members who were arrested - so there is always the feeling that they just wait to change to get away - there is not much back for them on Earth.. but in the end - the both prove to be more humane than though and it came out - there was not much wrong with the machine - they killed one person there - some keeper.. who was a part of that machine..

So, a lot of excitement.. that kind of go and discover episode.moreless

    • Sam: Well, according to his report, the Latonans never granted Greaves' team access to the sentinel device... before they were recalled and arrested.
Daniel: You don't think it's possible for an NID operative to lie?
Teal'c: I believe it is, Daniel Jackson.
      Daniel: Right...

    • Jack: I need to know what you did to screw it [the sentinel] up, and what I need to do to fix it.
Greaves: I'm more inclined to tell you where to shove it.

    • Daniel: Just out of curiosity, how many years did you take off their sentence if they managed to fix this?
Jack: Actually, they'll get a few more years out of this.
      Daniel: More?
Jack: They were on death row.

    • Greaves: I'll say this again. I don't like the thought of going into this unarmed.
      Jack: And.. I don't care.
Kershaw: I feel better just knowing there's an archaeologist watching our back.
Daniel: (holding a knife) Yeah, which end do the bullets go in again?

    • Sam: So how did you manage to find the Sentinel if the Latonans didn't want to show it to you?
      Kershaw: Maybe we're good?
      Jack: Bribed the locals, eh?
Greaves: I see you've done your homework.

    • Title
Throughout the series there have been a number of references to the works of science fiction writer Arthur C. Clarke,, most notably in episode #82, 4-16, 2010. The Sentinel is the title of Clarke's 1951 short story that eventually was expanded into the film 2001: A Space Odyssey. Both this episode and the short story involve a monitoring device of alien origin.
