  • Parasites from another dimension!

This was an interesting episode. It might have been overshadowed by the impending 200th episode a bit and was a little slow at times. Still, I think it was great to see the characters wearing different hats for a change, namely the General.

I like how Vala and Teal'c are bonding a bit as the "outsiders who found a place with the Earthlings". Landry and Mitchell also bonded a bit in this episode.

The writers came up with a clever antagonist, tying it together with the Sodan technology from last season & advancing the "Trust" conspiracy.

Carter's bluff at the end was also amusing.

I think this one will be more appreciated with time.moreless
  • Time off...

Is this the way SGC have vacation? The team is not very found of the idea first and Carter, Vala and Teal'c are busy as there is some strange creatures going on in some planets. So, first though is Primes.. but soon they realize they are behind that. And to make even worse, one of those devices making those awful monsters is missing.

But just like coincident the device is not far from Mitchell and Landry who are on the wooden house on mountains. And soon some mystical creature is appearing there too and hunt is on.

Quite nothing important episode, but a lot of fun.moreless
  • ok episode...

A mutated creature is killing people off world and the team find out that the cloaking devices are responsible. On earth, two mutated creatures are loose in the wilderness. The idea of the episode was promising, mutated creatures killing everyone, but it wasn't executed well. I really enjoyed the parts of the episode where Landry and Mitchell were alone together in Jack's house. Mitchell was so uncomfortable and it was really funny. Other than that, however, the episode just wasn't that good. Vala had some good moments when she was talking about her experience and such. Overall, some good funny moments, not a very good story, ok episode.moreless
  • The deadly creature of P3-whatever

This episode was a good detour from the season’s arc and was full of humor, great character moments, and bad CGI monsters. I really like the bonding between Mitchell and Landry mostly Cameron admitting that after his crash he felt like he could do almost anything and then realized that he needed the help of SG-1. The Vala and Teal’c moments were really good especially Vala wanting to capture the creature for a profit. The birding scene was hilarious and the look on Cam’s face was priceless. I liked the back story for Landry and can understand his dislike for hunting.moreless
  • Great episode...

As most people who read my stargate reviews know I really enjoy the earth based episodes and this was on of the best ones. A creature is terrorizing a park where landry and Mitchell just happen to be staying and then they bring in teams and kill 2 creatures. This episode also had some very funny quotes Like when they were talking about daniel and some books Mithchell said "he'll be like a fat kid in a candy store" and Landry replies by saying "I was a big boy Colonel and I didn't like those Jokes. That was really funny. later...moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (3)

    • During the briefing in the command tent, the SGC soldiers present have no patches on their uniforms, since they were operating on Earth where the SGC is still secret. The patches are still gone when the team moves through the woods and shoots the first creature. Yet as they shoot at the creatures later, everyone except Vala and Landry acquire patches as they shoot at the second creature.

    • In the briefing with Reynolds, Teal'c, and Vala, Carter tells them to return to the planet with SG-3 and SG-25. However in the next scene when Landry is telling Mitchell what the others are doing, he says SG-3 and SG-5, completely missing the "twenty" part.

    • Trivia: SG-3 is a US Marine unit. The Marine MARPAT BDU contains black "pixels", while Navy, Army and Air Force ACUs have no black.

  • QUOTES (15)

    • Mitchell: (to Landry) It's a good thing I left early. I took a wrong turn at the post office and was driving for about an hour before my special forces training kicked in and I realized I was lost. That, and the road ended.

    • Landry: We all need to stop for air now and then. We'll burn out! That's the one thing you people don't know how to do, so I'm making it an order.
Mitchell: (unenthusiastically) Yes, sir. I'm sure it'll be fun, sir.

    • (after holding guns on each other due to a noise in the night)
Mitchell: General, listen, uh…maybe I'm not the only one around here who needs to relax.
Landry: I'll try not to shoot you before morning.
Mitchell: Thank you, sir. Same here.

    • Landry: You're missing the opportunity of a lifetime, Mitchell.
Mitchell: Are you making it an order?
Landry: Birding is something you have to have in your soul, son. You have to come to it on your own.
Mitchell: Well, I gotta be honest with you, sir. I don't know that I have it in me.

    • Landry: We got a bunch of drunken hunters out there all hyped up looking for revenge and glory.
Mitchell: So, are we siding with the hunters or the bear?

    • Sheriff Stokes: (to Landry) Just a grizzly bear, huh? Since when does the air force go after a bear in the name of national security?

    • Mitchell: (playing poker with team and Landry) Last night was the best time since…well, I don't know when. The look on your face when I said, 'Sir! Get down!' (everyone looks at him) What? A hundred times the man has told me to relax.
      Landry: Not that much.

    • Mitchell: Yes sir, but you're a powerful air force general. You could order us up a chopper.
Landry: We don't use helicopters for our own personal transportation, Mitchell.
      Michell: Right, sir.
Landry: Besides, I already checked. There wasn't one available.

    • (as they play poker)
Sam: I think it's unlikely that there's a third creature, Sir.
Vala: Care to place odds on that?
Sam: I'm not much of a gambler.
      Teal'c: That is obvious.
      Vala: Oooh.

    • Teal'c: It is ironic that not so long ago, the mere presence of the Goa'uld on Earth would have been cause for great concern.
Sam: Seriously. Who'd ever think we had bigger fish to fry? Or that you'd use the word "ironic" in a sentence?
      Teal'c: Indeed.

    • Vala: The Sodan were using these device for hundreds of years. You'd think that least there'd be a label on the side in bold print that says "Beware, may cause deadly extra-dimensional radioactive monster-causing creature to appear. Or at least "Danger" would be nice.

    • Landry: I told you, the last thing we need is for this place to turn into the OK Corral.
      (gunshots heard)
Mitchell: Or a Vice Presidential bird hunt.

    • Mitchell: What about Jackson?
Landry: Still in England. Seems he's met some lord or earl with a private library of ancient reference material on Merlin, and Morgan la Faye. He's obviously quite excited.
Mitchell: Ehyeah. Like a fat kid in a candy store.
Landry: ...I was a big boy in my youth. Never did appreciate comments like that.
      Mitchell: Yes sir. Sorry sir.

    • Reynolds: You think we scared it off now?
Mitchell: No, I think we pissed it off.

    • Vala: But they didn't hear the rest of my plan.
Mitchell: We'll call it Plan 'B'.

  • NOTES (4)

    • Mitchell: If you have a Playstation, I would be happy to kick your ass at SOCOM 3.
SOCOM 3 is a recently released video game for the Playstation 2 game system. It faced high expectations as its predecessor, SOCOM 2: NAVY SEALS, was one of the Playstation 2's highest-ranked games.

    • Mitchell: Or a vice-presidential bird hunt.
This is a reference to Vice President Dick Cheney accidentally shooting a hunting companion during a quail-hunting trip in early 2006. This is somewhat odd considering George W. Bush is not the President in the Stargate universe, although President Hayes could have gotten Cheney as his VP after "The Lost City."
