Stars with Hearts

Show Summary

Stars with Hearts is a documentary TV series that takes a look at the philopanthirc work of celebrities. Former news anchor, Mary Alice Williams, hosts the one-hour segments that showcase famous people's efforts in giving back to humanity. The series opens with journalist John Stossel in the spotlight. Williams presents a short biography of the reporter's life before taking cameras to the many charitable organizations where Stossel donates twenty-five percent of his salary each year. Actor Cliff Robinson is next in the season's lineup when Williams visits some of the actor's World War II buddies, whose lives Cliff saved before becoming a movie star. Journalist Linda Ellerbee's work with cancer patients and Alan Arkin's support in helping struggling Broadway actors, appear in later episodes. By mid-season, Stars with Hearts focuses more on the goodwill that comes out of Hollywood by profiling actors like Mickey Rooney, Elliott Gould and Angie Dickinson. A report on TV personality, John Walsh, ends the season when Williams presents how an unspeakable tragedy motivated Walsh to create a TV show that helps find hundred criminals hiding throughout the United States.
