When Starsky races to Hutch's apartment after Vanessa's murder, the sound effect of the Torino racing along and screeching to a halt seems to cut out far too suddenly to be convincing – the noise was most likely added in post-production.
Hutch was mentioned to have a former wife back in the Pilot. However, there, her name was given as Nancy, not Vanessa as it is in this episode.
When arranging to meet with Victoria, Hutch gives the address of The Pits as being on "13th off Holland". However, in the fourth season episode 'The Game', the address to the bar is given as "1348 6th Street".
This is the only episode of the entire series where we get to see Huggy's home. We also see that he owns a white 1950s/60s Cadillac.
Running gag: Lilese (or Lisa?) – Starsky's pet chinchilla.
Hutch was mentioned to have a former wife back in the Pilot. However, there, her name was given as Nancy, not Vanessa as it is in this episode. (For the record, Vanessa comments that she and Hutch have been separated for "four years, six months and twelve days", which would indicate that they separated about a year before the series began.)
The spelling of this episode's title can be found to very between 'Hutchinson: Murder One' and 'Hutchinson – Murder One'. It is also sometimes found listed as 'Hutchinson For Murder One'.
