  • Trivia

    • A beautiful woman sets-up our heroes by asking Starsky to 'Jump-start' her dead car-battery, which is really a time-bomb intended to kill our favorite cops.
Starsky pulls his car nose-to-nose with hers, and they proceed until Hutch realizes it is a bomb and they run for cover. When the bomb goes off, Starsky's car is engulfed in flames and definately a gone-er! Right before the cars explode, it is in fact NOT a Torino, but an older 60's era Chevy ( possibly the black/green Chevy from the first episode) painted to resemble the Torino that blows up!
Somehow, after being destroyed in a raging inferno, the Torino is back, all spic and span and nice as ever in the very next episode. Starsky must have an awesome bodyshop!

  • Notes

    • Curiously, some prints of this episode, such as the one U.K. channel Five broadcast (04/03/2003) as part of their run, have the third season opening credits on! Even to the more casual viewer unfamiliar with the different seasons of the series, it is noticeable as Part One has the correct second season opening credits, not to mention that the closing credits have the correct second season theme, not the third season one!

    • Roger E. Mosley, who plays eccentric pilot "The Baron" in this episode, would go on to play another pilot, Theodore 'T.C.' Calvin, in the long-running 'Magnum, p.i.' (1980-1988). Mosley plays another character in the fourth season episode 'Huggy Can't Go Home [a.k.a. 'Huggy Can't Go Back]'. Coincidentally, Eugene Roche (brain-washer Dr. George Stegner) also had a re-occurring role in that series, as 'old school' Private Investigator Luther H. Gillis, who would typically turn up once per season (from the fourth season onwards).

    • In this half of the story, Starsky's Ford Torino is blown up, totally wrecked by a bomb. Yet, in true classic television style, it is back in the very next episode, and without even any explanation as to any repairs / replacement. Apparently, in early script drafts for this episode, there was to be some dialogue as to getting a replacement, but it never made it to the finished episode.
