  • Quotes

    • Julie: (talking to Richard) But somebody once told me that sometimes you have to know when to move on.
Michael Showalter: It was me. I told you.

    • Michael Showalter: It's at the point where I don't even feel like I'm Michael Showalter anymore, you know? It's like I'm Sanburry's corporate employee number 3142772865112772077213…

    • Michael Ian Black: How about a coffee shop? That's the ultimate hang zone!
Michael Showalter: All right! I'm stoked!
      David Wain: Let's do it!

    • Michael Ian Black: I know RIGHT!

    • Richard: How about some sugar for my coffee?
Michael Ian Black: How about I'm not your bitch!

    • Michael Ian Black: Look, I don't know what you guys are fighting about or if you're just on the rag or what but I don't care!

    • Michael Ian Black: Well if that doesn't just break my butt.

    • Julie: What are you doing?
Michael Showalter: I'm making some cinnamon milk.
      Julie: What's that?
Michael Showalter: Oh, it's a free drink I make out of cinnamon and milk. First, you pour the milk. Then you add the secret ingredient... cinnamon!

    • Michael Ian Black: Sounds like a real rowdy-dow!

    • Michael Ian Black: Here you go, one coffee
Richard: Oh, uh, I wanted a large.
Michael: Yeah, well we're all out of large coffee, so...

  • Notes

  • Allusions

    • Michael Showalter: Are you saying "Donald Twump?"
Jennifer: Yeah, Mike. We're Elmer Fudding it.

Elmer Fudd was a cartoon character who is best known for appearing in Warner Bros. cartoons with Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck. He had a speech impediment which caused him to pronounce R's as W's. Example: "Shh. I'm hunting wabbit."

    • David Wain: Prince Machiavelli himself couldn't have orchestrated a more murderous coup!

[Wain refers here to Florentine statesman and forerunner of modern politics Niccolo Machiavelli (1469-1527). He himself was not a prince, but rather is famous for writing "The Prince", which is considered his greatest work and ushered in a new style of politics.]
