      • J.T.: Ho ho ho! What's your name, little girl?
Girl: Samantha, but my friends call me Sam.
J.T.: (starts crying) Sam? Your name is Sam? I had a girlfriend named Sam, and now she's gone.
Girl: (to her mom) Mom, Santa's crying. (the girl leaves)
        J.T.: Why, Sam? Why?

      • (both Frank and Carol show up in the living room dressed as Santas)
Lilly: If you're Santa Claus, then who's that?
Carol: Uh. Um. Uh. I'm, uh, Mrs. Claus. Yes! Yes! I'm Claudia Claus. Yes. I'm just hear helping Santa out on his busy night.
Lilly: If you're Mrs. Claus, how come you have a beard?
Carol: Uh, cause, uh, I forgot to shave this morning?
Frank: If you think her face is hairy, you should see her legs! Ho ho ho! She's got more fur than Prancer!

      • (J.T. and Rich are dressed as store Santa and Elf)
J.T.: Please, Mr. Twilly, can't we have some other job in the store?
Mr. Twilly: No! According to your aptitude tests, you two aren't even smart enough to be managers.
Rich: Oh, that's bull. I thought I nailed that test!
Mr. Twilly: Mr. Halke, under sex, you put, "I really, really hope so."
Rich: Well, I was just trying to answer the questions honestly.

    • NOTES (1)

      • Step By Step (and Family Matters) was now on the cutting block due to the fact that the ratings of both shows were not up to Les Moonves' (President of CBS at the time, and the person who decided to buy the shows from ABC) expectations. Because of this, both shows were pulled from the lineup temporarily. Because of Step by Step's ratings faring worse than Family Matters, CBS cut the episode order from 22 to 19.
