Trivia: The book Dr. Draper is reading is The Idiot by Fyodor Dostoevsky.
Jesse James: Rats in withdrawal, jonesing rats… they'll have to be exterminated.
Stegman: Absolutely not! They have to be captured unharmed.
Jesse James: Steg, I can't have rodent junkies roaming the hallways, searching for crack.
Sol: I am a cop, your shepherd. You shall not want to cross that line. I'll make you lie down in mean postures. I'll bust your diddy-bopheads, and run you down on the path of righteousness, frogmarch your asses through the shadow of death. I'll teach you fear and show you evil. I, my rod and my staff shall discomfit thee. I'll turn you into table spread, anoint your heads with gasoline, for I am the meanest son of a bitch in the valley!
Bates: I don't want an infernal computer on my desk. I deal with people, not machines. Now take it away, or take me away.
A nurse can be seen reading a book, "Make Him Want you with Witchery, Love Potions, Charms and Spells." Its author is "Barlow Straker," a reference to two characters from King's Salem's Lot.
The female anchor from last week appears again, describing Criss' death as something "right out of a Stephen King novel."
Sol: "Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and raised him up."
Specifically, Sol is quoting the Bible, Mark 9:24-25.
Sol Tarus
An allusion to Saul of Tarsus. Before he was converted to Christianity and changed his name to Paul, Saul of Tarsus was a persecutor of Christians not too long after Christ was resurrected.
Sabrina, The Teenage Witch
Listen for Stegman's lover talking on the phone about an upcoming trip to the site of the famous Salem witch trials. The friend's name is Sabrina, an oblique reference to the comic and TV show Sabrina, the Teenage Witch.
