Episode Recap

Geologist and earthquake expert Richard Shwartzton arrives at Bates College to check out the tremors around Kingdom Hospital. The staff and Mrs. Druse are having a toast while another tremor shakes the hospital. Antubis cries in sympathetic pain in the Old Kingdom while Paul prepares to "put him out of his misery." Mary is standing over Peter's unconscious body while his roommate Rolf laughs maniacally.

Mrs. Druse thinks she hears Mary crying in pain while Antubis struggles enough to drive Paul back. Druse insists that she must find the child. Dr. Stegman is walking through the halls when Dr. James talks to him about Schwartzton's arrival. Elmer comes on to Lona but she rejects him yet again.

Stegman comes into his office and finds Brenda waiting for him. Everything at the hospital is wearing him down. She tells him they can cover up the anesthesiology incident and they flirt. Elmer is working on the corpse and notices the similarity to himself, while Paul visits Rolf and suggests he do some unpleasant work.

Shwartzton is meeting with the Bates College faculty and Dr. James at a fancy dinner while Mrs. Druse asks her son Bobby to help her look through the records to find Mary. Otto asks them where Blondi is and Bobby goes to help him and leave his mother to it.

Peter is unable to communicate with his wife as a nurse asks her to leave him and get a break. She reluctantly agrees.

Hook flirts with Christine as Abel and Christa look on, giggling. Christine begs off initially but they get text messages from each other admitting they can't get along with each other and they kiss. Abel and Christa sneak out.

James proposes a toast to Schwartzton, hoping he'll figure out the answer to the quakes. Stegman arrives for the Clean Air initiation and the ceremony begins. Brenda, who is present, makes sure he says the proper words after which they stuff an apple in his mouth and slice down with a ceremonial knife.

Peter attempts to draw out a sketch of Mary as Rolf gets out of his neighboring bed. Paul, egging him on, wonders where Mary is and notices that she's taken Peter's spirit with him. If Rolf kills Peter's body then his spirit will be trapped in the Old Kingdom.

Elmer sneaks down to the morgue to get the corpse's body and starts cutting the head off.

Stegman is getting his cut tended to when James arrives to reassure him. Stegman notices that Druse is wandering around but James assures him that this time he's admitted her. He then tells Stegman not to worry about the law suit as long as there's no copy of the report. Stegman is not reassured. Meanwhile Elmer has Gupta set up Lona for his prank with the corpse.

Stegman takes an elevator down but first it stops working and then the lights go out. When the doors open he finds himself in the Old Kingdom. Walking around, he sees a wolf with glowing eyes coming at him and flees down the hall. A doctor comes out and speaks of the "children" as he runs by first the doctor and then Mary and Peter.

Gupta gives Elmer's present, a bag, to Lona, but she doesn't open it. Elmer asks him if she opened it and is frustrated to learn she didn't. A nurse comes in to talk to Lona and opens the bag, only to have the corpse's head drop out. Elmer has made it up to look like him.

Peter and Mary walk through the Old Kingdom as screams ring out around them. Mrs. Druse is walking the halls with a pendant, trying to find Mary. She follows the "trail" to Peter's bedside and finds the drawing of Mary with her name on it. Rolf looks on.

Mary finds the injured Antubis and reveals to peter that he can kill, or cure, as he eats disease. Peter decides to help him but there seems little he can do as Antubis has lost a lot of blood.

Elmer runs away with the head and hides it in his locker. However, the headless corpse that he took it from starts wandering around the Old Kingdom. The nurse checks up on Peter and after she leaves, Rolf grabs a bottle of alcohol and prepares to dispose of Peter's body by torching it, but notices a matchbook for a psychic.

Peter rigs up a blood transfusion for Antubis and donates his own blood, which revives the creature. Paul shows up to encourage him, while Mrs. Druse watches them from hiding. As Antubis revives, another earthquake shakes the hospital. Druse tries to contact Mary while the doctor from earlier arrives to confront Rolf and demands to know where Paul is. Paul is forced to leave and Rolf prepares to ignite Peter. But just as he prepares to light the match, Antubis arrives and Rolf manages to set himself on fire. Antubis departs as the staff calls a Code Red.

The corpse continues to look for its head and makes its way to Elmer's locker where it tries to get in. At his hotel room, Shwartzton is drinking heavily and notices Mary's reflection trapped in a champagne bottle, calling for help. The ambulance is sent to pick him up, apparently for a case of the DTs. On his security monitors Otto spots Elmer talking to a pair of twins. The corpse continues to hack away at Elmer's locker and gets it open as Peter and Mary arrive. The corpse is puzzled as to what's going on. Shwartzton is brought in and hallucinates violently about Elmer, the girls, Otto, and a nurse crawling across the ceiling. Another earthquake shakes the Old Kingdom where Shwartzton finds himself in spirit form.
