Stormy Petrel is 1960 Australian TV series that tells the story of William Bligh, played by Brian James. Bligh was the commanding officer of HMS Bounty, a British Royal Navy ship wherein a mutiny occurred on April 28, 1789. Stormy Petrel was written by Rex Reinits and directed by Colin Dean. It premiered in Australia on May 15, 1960. In 1961, this TV series won the Special Gold Logie award while its main cast, Brian James, won the Logie Best Actor award.
