  • Josie jumps into the wormhole to 1879.

Josie jumps into the wormhole to find herself in 1879. As she pokes around, Headmistress Durst believes that Josie is a student who has arrived early, and Josie is forced to pretend she is Ms. Turner, a student who is going to a boarding school, whose name later on changes to Blake Holsey High. As she is there, she meets Blake Holsey, and they walk around the school, and Blake explains where things around the school are, when they accidentally step in a picture that Mr. Eastmen is taking. In the present, the rest of the Science Club discovers that picture, and they all rush to find Josie after, of course, finding the proper atttire. When they come, Josie is caught between a jealous Blake and a jealous Vaughn, and the Science Club misses the wormhole. They conduct Benjamin Franklin's kite experiment to re-open the wormhole, but Headmistress Durst, Mr. Avenir, and a local law officer and trying to hunt Josie and the Science club down because they were "frauds." (The REAL students had just arrived.) As the three try and get into the Science room (thanks to Avenir's logic) Blake and Vaughn must hold the door while the Science Club escapes, and they DO escape, with Vaughn jumping into the wormhole at the last minute and the door bursts open. The rest of the Science Club makes it back to the present, but Vauhn lands in October 4th of 1977.

Overall, I believe this was a pretty good episode, and it introduces Avenir, who is very important in 'Conclusions.'moreless
  • They kind of did this already in fate, but still, it was a great episode

This episode was a very cute idea, and I love how the storyline came together, and josie and the crew being all dressed up in 1800's outfits was very funny and entertaining in itself. The name blake holsey was also very amusing and vaughn calling blake her boyfriend made me laugh out loud. Although Vaughn getting stuck in 1987 was freaky, it was an exciting twist - and I love twists. My only question is - who opened the wormhole in the begining of this episode in the first place? Who did Josie go in after? And why did the photographer keep the picture he took of the building that Josie messed up (and the science club found)? It's confusing but I'll let it go. This was an overall great episode and it kept me entertained all the way to the very end.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (6)

    • When Josie and Blake were walking outside of the school and Blake was telling her things about it, if you look at the school you see that there are these "wall plants" on it - those leaves that grow around a building. How in the world does a brand new building already have THOSE all over it?

    • The subfloor of the Science Office is made of Palladium in order to enable the wormhole to function as necessary. This detail was designed into the original blueprints of the Blake Holsey structure, which had previously been known as New Chichester Preparatory Academy.

Palladium is a rare metallic element, and was discovered in 1802. The chemical symbol is Pd, the atomic weight is 106.2.

Palladium when combined with yellow gold produces white gold.

    • In the episode Robot, Principal Durst said Blake Holsey High was 150 years old. But in this episode they are still constructing Blake Holsey High and it's 1879, wich would make the building 125 or 126 years. (Contributor: Jane_Doe)

    • In that time, Cameras tookat least 10 minutes to take a picture, not only they didn't take pictures of landscapes like in the show, but Josie would have to stay 10 minutes there in the same position so that the picture was taken correctly. (Contributor: Jane_Doe)

    • When Vaughn is in the door with Blake Holsey you can see the Different Positions between shots

    • When Josie has just arrived in 1879 and meets "Headmistress Durst", she is sent upstairs to put on more suitable clothing. When she comes down, not only is she dressed for the period, but she has also managed to curl her hair. Since her main goal at the time was to get back to the "Science Room" and see if the wormhole would open, why would she take the considerable amount of time needed to work on her hair? • QUOTES (12)

  • NOTES (4)

    • The date Josie travels the wormhole to in Past is October 4 1879. The same month and day as the Pearadyne explosion, October 4. The events are however 108 years apart, 1879 and 1987.

    • Janitor's Secret Message: "The experiments begin anew. The enemy is seen. One is lost."

    • Mr. Avenir unexplainably seemed to know all the information about Josie and the wormhole, and in the episode 'Nanotechnology' it is stated that Tyler got a scholarship from the Avenir institute after he is seen "talking" in the forest.
