This episode represents a fabulous change of pace for the series. Told almost like a ghost story. With its use of atmospheric visuals like the black caped figure that flits at the edge of Josie's vision for most of the episode. Episode has a haunting soundscape of sharp sounds and spooky echoes that pulls you into the mystery. Like a lot of the good eps, this one starts off with a minor problem - Josie is late for curfew. She cut a study session with Lucas to go on a date with Vaughn. They almost kiss for the first time, but the bell in the bell tower sounds, interrupting them. Cute! Then in the way we've come to love from this series, that little moment turns into a big problem. Josie tries to pretend her watch is broken by throwing it on the ground when Durst looks to see if she's telling the truth. But her watch is affected by that black hole energy and the next thing you know the watch has stopped. And so has Principal Durst! Actually, Durst hasn't stopped we find out later, she's just moving wayyy slower than Josie. At first Josie enjoys her newfound time stopper. But like with a lot of things Josie pushes too far the watch breaks, stranding Josie just out of time from the one the rest of the science club are in. And it takes her friends, especially Lucas, to figure out how they can bring her back into their timeline. By the end of the story, Josie realized that she was taking advantage of Lucas so she could go out with Vaughn that night and missed curfew. Josie learned something this episode, Vaughn will betray her for this father. Who can she really trust? Lucas.
