Strawberry Shortcake is finally back on top after a string of mediocre episodes with poor roles for the villains and generic writing(although the Berry Big Journeys episodes were pretty good). Cookie Jar must've finally realized what made the earlier episodes so special. The wholesome lessons that can be applied to everyday life. We also finally get another rare sighting of Apple Dumplin. That's always a treat.
In the DVD, during the storytelling parts, a misunderstanding between Angel Cake and Rainbow Sherbet results in hurt feelings for Angel. Unfortunately, Angel is too stubborn to listen to an explanation or an apology. Strawberry tells a loose adaptation of Sleeping Beauty in which Brambleberry Fairy's lack of forgiveness and listening skills ruins life for everybody when she places a curse on Princess Strawberry Rose. Brambleberry is obviously Angel with purple hair and a bad tan, but the lesson this episode teaches is very important. Eventually Brambleberry starts to feel remorse and learns how to forgive and be forgiven for the mistakes that she's made and that was made to her.
Hmm. No wake up kiss for Princess Strawberry from Prince Huck. What? They're okay with showing blood when Strawberry pricks her hand but are worried about innocent affection? Gah.
Anyway. Strawberry Shortcake has finally bounced back. This episode is well animated, fun, and educational. It's time not to worry so much about the series 4 episodes.
