  • Notes

  • Allusions

    • Title: Female of the Species
The episode title is taken from Rudyard Kipling's 1911 poem The Female of the Species. The poem has the line "For the female of the species is more deadly than the male", which in this episode refers to the female assassin.

    • Melanie: This could be the hottest story since the royal wedding.

Ms. Ryan is referring to the 1981 British royal wedding of Princess Diana and Prince Charles.

    • Jesse: What about Florence Nightingale?

Jesse says this referring to the disguised nurse who got away. Florence Nightingale (1820-1910) was a British nurse, most famous for serving in the Crimean War (1854-1856). Her name has become synonymous to a caring and loving nurse.
