Germany's adaption of "The Office". I'm always careful with adaptions of series, but Stromberg ist THE BEST. Awesome main charactor with lots of black humor!

Germany's adaption of "The Office". I'm always careful with adaptions of series, but Stromberg ist THE BEST. Awesome main charactor with lots of black humor! Similar to the American and British original the series shows the daily life of the damage adjustment department of a insurrance company. Stromberg is the boss of this small department and he is causing more problems than he solves and actually he doesn't have any clue about actual insurrance work but always finds ways to explain his mistakes. Also he is quite good in organising things which pleases the management or others. Great series, actually in its 4th season and still good! Sadly we had to wait a long time for this season! Hope others will follow!moreless

Strombergs concept is a mockumentary - a parody of in Germany quite popular documentary soaps. Interviews with the characters and hidden cameras suggest filming of an documentary of the fictive insurance company "Capitol".
The title character "Bernd Stromberg" wants to be a father figure to his employees but is in fact an opputunist who wants to make a carrier. In hs interviews he draws far fetched comparisons to justify his decisions. Its fun to watch how Stromberg tries to be the best boss in the world but fails miserably due to his social and professional incompentences. The other characters are well written: we've got the all time looser, the superficial manly man, his girlfriend who tries to be ever so correct and the elder lady who sits in the work counsil. But where comedy shines, tragedy is not far behind.moreless
