Strumpet City is a 1980 television series based on the novel by James
Plunkett. As a result of the year-long labor disputes in Dublin,
Ireland, that began in 1913, over 20,000 workers were locked out of
their job sites. Strumpet City tells the story of the working-class in
Ireland during that time, and the primary character is Jimmy Fitzpatrick
(Bryan Murray). Jimmy, a foundry worker, joins the union and fights for
better working conditions. Strumpet City also stars Frank Grimes as
Father O'Connor, David Kelly as Rashers and Angela Harding as Mary.
