Studio 59

Show Summary

Studio 59 is a late-night comedy variety show from the American Broadcasting Company with actor and musician Chris Lemmon as host. Lemmon mixes Saturday Night Live with David Letterman by inviting celebrities, comedians and live musical guests to the show for some evening fun. The season starts off with actress Maria Stern from TV's Star Trek the Next Generation, who accidentally gives Lemmon some spoilers about her show's upcoming season finale. Comedian Steve Mc Grew joins them later and performs ten minutes of stand-up comedy. Once a week, cast members Mac Stien and Jamie Herzlinger do Studio 59's "Weekend Update," spoofing headline news stories as they occur. Up-and-coming bands also stop by the show, including independent rock group, Blue Train, and Canadian pop band, Food for Feat. Other celebrities who stop by Studio 59 include Lara Flynn Boyle from TV's Twin peaks, Full House's John Stamos, actor Robert Stack and British DJ, Boy George.
